I'll explain later why I'm asking this question. I assure you, there is a reason I'm asking this on goth.net. For now, let's just say I'd be very curious to see how this breaks down.

I haven't really heard too much jazz to say I like it, but I absolutely LOVE classical. It's one of my favorite genres.

I like both, but a different type of jazz. I don't know exactually what its called. The group is called Isatope (something its a number). A relative of mine is in the group so i gave it a listen and actually liked it.

Would Blues fall under Jazz as well? If so, I like both of em'.

Null vote, as I don't know enough Jazz to be conclusive on whether I like it or not.
The little bits I know make me prefer classical over jazz.
But, it's a fairly uninformed choice, so do with it as you will.

I like classical and have only heard a bit of jazz, although I kind of found it hard to pick since I didn't really want to say "I like classical, but don't like jazz", but I chose that anyway =)

Have had extensive exposure to both and can say that I *generally* like both. But then, there are classical composers and styles that I can't stand (like Baroque) and composers I like a bunch, such as Mozart. Same goes for jazz...there's stuff I cannot stand, the frantic free-form stuff, and stuff I love like Miles Davis and John Coltrane and Benny Goodman (techincally that's big band & swing, but...).

So long as we're talking about REAL jazz and not that crappy "smooth jazz" my parents listen to...I like both.

Jazz (for me) is one of those genres where there is the occasional thing that I will hear and like, but the vast majority of it I don't like.
Whereas with Classical, out of what I've heard, I like more than I dislike. I'm particularly fond of Saint-Saens, Chopin and Tschaikovsky (sp?).
Hence, I voted for "classical and not jazz". Like most people so far.

Put me down for "both".
I suppose that I am more partial to classical than jazz, but I am a spritual native of New Orleans and thus very much enjoy that distinctly American art form.

Well, for my first foray into the music section (somewhat rediculous, ain't it?) I have to say that I love both. In fact, I'm hard pressed to find the type of music that I entirely dislike. There are some I don't seek out and have trouble finding a good track in, but every genre has at least one or two artists who do some really good work.
Jazz and Classical happen to have a great many, very spectacular artists and composers.

Classical all the way!
Some jazz is ok-- Especially the stuff made right after WWII. But over all, I like classical way better.

Now, SS, I'm terribly curious as to why you are taking this poll? What is this nefarious and determined purpose you have for this poll?
And what have the results proven?
