 Fashionable Victorians
So an interesting development has come up with the photo that I entered in the contest on Chicstar.com. The contest hasn't ended, but I was contacted by Lisa Lewis (a big Victorian aficionado http://www.victorianalady.com/ I'm a follower of her groups Victorian Lady and Victorian Mourning on Facebook) for permission to have my photo featured in her book on Fashionable Victorians (she said it would be under the neo-Victorian segment of her book). Of course I said that I would be honored to be featured in her book and I would be looking forward to it. Finally, a non-ugly picture of me will be featured in a book that wasn't a school yearbook.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Carpi, that's fantastic news! I'll buy that book!
In honor of your Victorian debut, I've anagrammed you a Victorian name:
Cassandra Pipkin-Charter = Carpathian Dark Princess
Cheers!

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Thank you Neph! I hope that all goes well with this! I just need to make sure my friend - who took the photograph - gets back to me A.S.A.P. since she'd be given credit also and both of our signatures are needed in order for it to be released. Who knew that a random day out in the cemetery would lead to all of this?

(Topic split from "Thoughts and Sharing" after discussion with Carpi. ) Here's hoping author Lisa Lewis gets lots of notice from our Goth.net members! Carpi, I'm sure everyone's looking forward to seeing you in this book! I know I am! -- Nephele

That is beyond awesome Carpi! I've never heard of her before, but I would love to get that book when it comes out! It was a beautiful photo, so I cannot say i am too surprised!

Thanks Midi. Here's her Victorian Mourning page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Victorian ... 3627150562And here's a page with more details on the book: http://www.victorianalady.com/newsreleases.htmlIf you watch the Science Channel show "Oddities" you might have seen her in the season two episode featuring the three little (deformed) piggies. ^_^ I couldn't find a clip of her in the show though.

 Re: Fashionable Victorians
Carpi, did you design and sew the outfit you're wearing for the picture in the book? I know you do a lot of DIY stuff, so I was wondering.

 Re: Fashionable Victorians
Not this time Neph. I haven't been able to do some hardcore sewing until this week now that school is out, but I got a ton of clothes for my birthday this year and the shirt and the skirt I'm wearing are some of them. ^_^
