 Re: Last film you watched
I'd like to see the two AVP movies and the new "Predators". As for the last film I watched, it was some fairly decent Asian S&M porn.

I can understand the draw to the Preds, but the weird fan-girlism that keeps people making these horrible movies confuses me. Fangirls(even when they're boys) don't make a movie good.

Fangirls(even when they're boys) don't make a movie good. I so agree with that... I liked the first three Alien films. I loved the first Predator film. (Haven't seen Predators yet, though I've heard good things about it.) You would think that combining the two is simply natural (especially since Predator II had a xenomorph skull as an in-joke in one of the scenes). The Aliens Versus Predator comic sold fairly well. You'd think that a movie would've blown people's minds away. Nope. Instead, we get AvP (which was so-so) and AVP II (which was insipid, lifeless and just plain disgusting). These were films made by fans of the series, as you said. A film like, say, Star Trek: Nemesis was criticized because, well, it wasn't as good as other Trek films, and the actors stated that was because it wasn't made by a fan of the franchise. Does that really determine success? Star Trek II was made by a guy who had never seen a single episode of the original series before he got the director's seat for that film, and he made what is still considered by fans to be a masterpiece. Abrams wasn't that big a fan of the franchise when he made Star Trek, and he did fairly well (though this is debatable). These guys came at the franchise with an open mind and they kicked ass in the box office. In Nicholas Meyers' case, he even made wildly successful sequels to his first film in the series ( Star Trek III, Star Trek IV and Star Trek VI). Compare this to the Alien franchise. The guys who made Resurrection were fans. Their film sucked (though much of that, admittedly, was due to executive meddling and the trashing of a great script by Joss Whedon). AvP and AvP: Requiem were made by fans of both series, and those films tanked dramatically. Just because you like something doesn't mean you'll be good at writing/directing it.

 Re: Last film you watched
Joss Whedon wouldn't know a good script if it bit him on his ass, anyway. I don't think he's ever done anything that was actually good besides Roseanne. I am not a fan of his work.

I dunno, I really liked "Firefly", Serenity, the movie "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and "Atlantis: The Lost Empire". The rest of his stuff - Buffy and Angel or Dollhouse - I can take or leave.

I have fantasies of him dressed as Pee Wee whispering obscene things into my ear. I did half-ass watch the first season of Angel after seeing David Boreanaz topless. Storyline, what storyline?
