Re: Gothic TV shows and movies.
Silent Hill was alright. I watched it with a friend years ago who was surprised that I knew what the broken bridge symbolism meant. I've been reading ghost stories as far back as I can remember.

I'm not sure I know that symbolism? Care to enlighten me? ^ I like Silent Hill I like the creepy dream state...I've found it inspiring in my own creative works. I designed a monster for one of my stories and my fiance said it wouldn't look out of place in Silent Hill. I took that as a great compliment n_n

And later when she returns 'home' but she can't see her husband and he can't see her. It's a common type of theme in ghost stories and interdimentional movies.

I like how the 1990s animated series shifted from a film noir attitude to the cyberpunk-ness of Batman Beyond in the late 90s-early 2000s. But I think my absolute favorite is (was) Gargoyles. I second this!

Re: Gothic TV shows and movies.
I got sucked in before it came out...I went to the website and hooked on like...something that hooks on. I want to see Repomen because it is based on it, and I find it amazing that they haven't sued. But then again, they love the art, not the money! Favourite song? Oh...it can only be "it's a thankless job"...

Yes! Not just me! Favourite character from True Blood is Erik Northman...I loved him in the books too!
As for Repo? Well...it has to be Nathan!

Oh...it can only be "it's a thankless job"... No, its not based on it, they stole the idea. Terrance Zdunich originally pitched Repo to Universal Pictures. They turned it down because it was a musical, since Terrance didn't agree to change it he went somewere different. They took his idea, after they saw how good the opera did, and made there own repo men.

The trailer for "RepoMen" was posted on this forum. I have to say, it didn't look good to me - and as soon as I saw Jude "I'm so wooden I could make a wardrobe look like an actor" Law in it, any interest I may have had evaporated like Hobgoblin at a beer festival.
