 Re: Gothmobiles
Has anyone noticed how many vampire movies have involved a Dodge Charger? I.e. Blade, The Forsaken, etc.

Honestly, the only reason I bought mine was because I was having some financial problems and a person I know was trying to get rid of it at the same time, so she gave me a good deal on it. But it's cool, and slightly hearse-ish, and interestingly retro at the same time. Plus it's got a huge trunk so that we can haul around all of our music gear if we need to. I love the idea of painting it purple with spiderwebs..that would look awesome. My fiancee and I would like to do some interesting artwork on ours one of these days too but we can't seem to figure out what...I keep trying to talk him into having flames painted on it though...lol. However, I would absolutely love to own a hearse, beyond the aesthetics for nothing else but all the storage space in the back. I used to know a local drummer from around my area who used to go to gigs with his kit and equipment in the back of his hearse, its got all the storage space of a van with less gas mileage.

 Re: Gothmobiles
Anyone ever seen the old movie, "Harold and Maude"? Harold (a young man obsessed with death who spends much of the movie attending funerals for fun and faking suicides around his mom to get a reaction) starts the movie with a hearse as his car, until his mom makes him get rid of it and gets him a sports car, so he basically converts it to a little sports hearse looking thing. It's adorable. Ah, here we go. A picture.

PT Hearse conversion ( front) ( back). I don't want to know what it cost to have done.

 Re: Gothmobiles
There aren't any automobiles that strike me as particularly goth, hearses are more psychobilly than anything else. I always thought that the subway was the most goth way to get around.

I drive a black Jaguar. I named him Panther. Gothic modeling career for it. I sometimes inject myself with antidepressant's in that car so that Panther can hear my cries and feel my tears.

 Re: Gothmobiles
Funny that this subject should come up... I've been lusting after a black PT Cruiser, and our local dealership just got a 2010 model on their lot. The SO and I stopped in to look at it yesterday, but I have a better chance of seeing God than in getting that car. It's not "practical". -- Tue Apr 06, 2010 12:07 pm -- viscus wrote: I always thought that the subway was the most goth way to get around. Why, yes, and here's proof: Goths on the bus

Why, yes, and here's proof: Goths on the busIt has to be practical? I always see the practicality of cars the same way I see practicality of clothes/fashion. [Meaning, it's nice to have something disposable you can beat on when you're doing something rough or messy but the rest of the time it's nice to have something that looks the way you want it to]. I'm in the process right now of building this. The hard part is finding all the specialized hearse parts (landau bars, casket rollers, bier pins, purple strobe light). Everything else should be either easy to get, or easy to replicate. Plan on doing the false floor using cherry flooring (for homes), making the drapes shouldn't be that hard: It's the gas-costs that I'm not looking forward to. My last car consistently got over 30, this will be more like 19.
