Post The Streets of Gothtown
The wonderfully creepy peeps at NewGothCity.com have designated a select area of New York City as "Gothtown" -- and even provided a map to this area:

Map of Gothtown

There's certainly no denying that this area encompasses some of NYC's best "must see" shops for the gothically inclined: Gothic Renaissance, Trash & Vaudeville, Obscura Antiques & Oddities, Strand Bookstore, to name just a few. (Tower Records, sadly, is no more, but they used to be in Gothtown years ago, as well.) The area also encompasses a number of bars that feature goth nights and special events.

But if this section of NYC's East Village is to be renamed "Gothtown," then wouldn't it be great if all the streets in Gothtown also had gothic-sounding names?

So, I challenge the creative here to come up with better, gothic-sounding names for all those streets on Gothtown's map. Here are the streets to be renamed:

1st Avenue
2nd Avenue
3rd Avenue
4th Avenue
Astor Place
Avenue A
Avenue B
Avenue C
Bleecker Street
Bond Street
Bowery
Cooper Square
East 1st Street
East 2nd Street
East 3rd Street
East 4th Street
East 5th Street
East 6th Street
East 7th Street
East 8th Street
East 9th Street
East 10th Street
East 11th Street
East 12th Street
East 13th Street
Great Jones Street
Lafayette Street
St. Marks Place

Haha -- good ones, orlok

I would change St. Mark's Place to St. Murphy's Place, for starters. And Bleecker St. to Bleak St. And maybe Bond St. to Bondage St. ;)

Nostalgia Critic: Excuse me, can you tell me how I get to Shadowkiss Avenue?

Angry Video Game Nerd: Sure, it's right around Serpent's Kiss Place.

Nostalgia Critic: What the hell kind of place is this?

Angry Video Game Nerd: A *beep*ing weird one!

It needs a Dracula Drive! Or Cthulu Court! Maybe a Black Rose Lane?

I propose we have a Lovecraft Lane.

Great Jones Street = Great Bones Street

Cooper Square = Severina Square

Bowery = Bowie (not Goth, but he's just awesome).

Voltaire or Varney Vale? Walpole Way? Steele Street? Robert Smith Row? Melancholy Mews? Lachrymose Lane? In homage to The Munsters we need a Mockingbird Lane (and I have first call on house number 1313  ).
