Re: Feeling at home during the night
I have mixed feelings towards the night time. I like how it's more calm and quiet which is an atmosphere I see for taking it easy/relaxing; but I'm also afraid of complete darkness and too much silence(it reminds me of death. Yes, I accept death, but I don't like it one bit). I always have a bit of anxiety(well, I always have anxiety, but it's worse) at night because of that.
I don't care if this makes me less of a goth. Besides, living up to every cliche isn't fun anyway so I think it makes me more interesting.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
I love night time because you can see things at night which you wouldn't normally expect to see during the day. I once saw a Heron dunking a rat in water before swallowing it, late at night eeeeuch. I love watching thunderstorms at night, especially when it's fork lightning, because you can see some amazing fork lightning displays. If ever there's a thunderstorm brewing during a warm summers night, I always go outside to watch it! Unfortunately we don't get too many here, so when we do get one it's kind of very special for me. Other things I enjoy seeing at night are Foxes, Cats, Hedgehogs (very few about now) and Bats. I have also walked through a graveyard at night all by myself, not during a thunderstorm though.

I've never been a night owl, but I can absolutely say that I hate bright light and I hate heat. I've even been confirmed to have photosensitive eyes by an optometrist who took a scan of my retina.
I do sleep at night, but I love dreams. My deal home would be in some dark, cool castle or underground lair.

Well... I better feel at home during the night because I'm living the vampire shift right now... again... Oh well... I've just gotta make the best of it.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
I have work, school, study, and sadly, some form of social life... I love being up at night but I usually don't make it past 6 or 7pm...

Currenly, it's so hot outside that the only time I venture outside is at night. Dusk and dark have always been my favorite times of day anyway.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
I love being out at night. During the day, everything is so rushed, you have to be here at this time, everyone hurries you in shops, you have to snap that up before someone else, you have to work to everyone else's schedule. At night, it's so quiet and calm. You can stop to appreciate the world. And in my opinion, things look nicer at night, a lot if it anyway. Also my eyes are quite light sensitive, so I can see.
To me, night is truer to the world than daytime. at night, it's mostly just the world. The landscape, the moon and the stars, the wind. The world as it is. Everything is how it should be.
In the daytime, the world returns to how we made it. Everywhere you look people at changing things to how they want it, making you work to their schedule, telling you "no, you cannot..." and "wait for a minute.." and "that's not how it works" with rules and laws that, really, were made up. All our laws were originally made up, there was nothing that means that they must be kept, aside from us. For me, the day is full of crap, to put it bluntly. Everyone is running around being busy with lives we were never meant for, moving so fast we don't have to time to stop and think. To look around and appreciate the world. There's too much going on. Too many lies and half truths running around.
Again; To me, night is truer to the world than daytime. at night, it's mostly just the world. The landscape, the moon and the stars, the wind. The world as it is.
Everything is how it should be.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
I enjoy the night. I like it because it is relaxing. I stay up till midnight most of the time. I can do things I wouldn't be able to do in the day because of being so busy in the day. I also like taking my dog for a walk in the cool night's breeze. There are a lot of things I like to do at night, but it would take a long time to list them.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
I like the night, but I rarely venture out for walks. Like some of the other people on this thread, for some reason I feel more "awake" at night. Around about 10 or 11 pm, when everyone else is starting to settle down and go to bed, I get this energy from seemingly nowhere. I love the smell of the night air, especially if its laced with a wetness lingering from a storm earlier in the day. I love how wet plants sparkle in the moonlight or underneath a streetlight. I've lived out in the country for a short time at one point in my life, and the sky is just breathtaking. It really is no wonder why people throughout history would look up at the stars and believe that some heaven existed among them. There's this stillness, a mysterious serenity about the night.
The daytime doesn't bother me so much. Its not the light that gets to me, but rather the heat. I hate being hot, and the sun can be quite draining during the summer. I also have an odd problem with the sun making me sneeze. Other than that, I enjoy the sunshine when its not insanely hot outside. Unlike some here, ;) I don't burn easily and can actually tan. Not that I like being tan, but its better than tomato red.
I am afraid of the darkness sometimes, but its more to do with where I am in the dark rather than it just being dark. There are some places I feel very uncomfortable in when its completely dark. Especially if there's mirrors. I have a fear of looking at my reflection when its dark, so I will not venture into a bathroom without the light on. No nighttime walks alone in a graveyard for me either... But I might consider it if I had some company ^-^''. Preferably company that's alive, or mostly alive.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
Nighttime is the only time it's quiet in my house, so I quite like it. Unfortunately, staying up means sleeping in until 11:00 usually.

Re: Feeling at home during the night
At night, I feel more relaxed and laid back while admiring the dark consuming the area I'm around with the street lights and the house windows shining in the background. I also tend to stay up late as well as I like to listen to music and surf the net a lot before going to sleep around at 12, 1, 2am or sometimes 3am.

Severe Insomnia + Former Bar Bouncer = I tend to be active at night and rather docile in sunlight.
