Post Whats on your tombstone?
Just to make this festive day even more cheery, I would like to ask what monument you would like to be associated with your mortal remains? (given they you may be buried, burned to ash, sky buried etc.)

Personally, I'm going for ultra-cheesy. My tombstone would have a bat motif with flashing red LED eyes and make ghoulish noises as well, all triggered by a motion sensor. The fog generator would activate at night as well. The electronics would be solar charging a battery to make it just a tad more ecological. It would be the duty of my descendants to refill the fog machine reservoir now and again. The glass coffin with hydraulic lifting mechanism might be going a bit far though.

The inscription would read: "Proofed against zombie resurrection and necromantic meddling"

Sometimes, I have a deliberate and willful lack of taste.

There is a way around that, I seem to recall there was a company out there installing LCD's and solar panels into headstones, the idea being that the solar panel would keep the LCD powered, and you could then put an SD card of photographs in it and show pictures of the deceased indefinitely. But it wouldn't take much to go the next step from that and just put some LED's (powered by the solar panel) and a webcam in the coffin so that the screen can show the body in real time.

I have a fairly good idea of how I would want to design my tombstone, it's the text that I haven't really gotten anywhere on yet. I would be going for something a bit more traditional; unpolished surfaces, half the thickness of modern headstones, and of a proper vertical rectangular shape. From there, I would have columns (which would be polished) carved out of the vertical sides, the top carved to a triangular point (to allow for some kind of design at the top center; of what I do not know yet). This would give a fair amount of space for text, which would be in bold deutsche gothic script, and then the whole thing would have wrought iron fencing around the plot.

What? some meddling might be fun!

I can't decide between the fish and the chicken (oh wait, those are my dinner choices for my cousin's son's wedding - never mind)

Yes, fast-forward and rewind buttons as well!

Very elegant, nothing too baroque. :)

harpy, Ahh, even beyond the grave she gives me no peace, only pieces... of myself (and I know which ones!). :P Congratulations on the wedding. :D

Did you scroll through all of those pictures? One coffin, requested by a gynecologist, was shaped like a uterus!  maybe he didn't get enough while alive...? :P

What's on my tombstone? Pepperoni????

Oh, sorry...wrong tombstone. Probably nothing! I don't want a plot. I want to be cremated, and my ashes spread in the ocean. I don't want people coming to visit the remains of an empty shell that once held my soul, since I don't believe there is death, but you simply move from this place to the next.

I'm getting cremation with some of my ashes placed in the head cavities of whatever dolls I own at. The time of passing. If I could manage it, I'd get a tiny bit put inside of Rozz's memorial(obsessed much?). What my loved ones choose to do with the rest of me is up to them.

Am planning on registering myself to a donor organization so that when am gone they can take my vital organs and save a life and after that my family can do whatever they want to do with my reamains...

On my Tombstone they should write "The one who strived for Innocences but lost it to humanity"

My name, date of birth, and blank place where date of death will go. That's what's on it now. I believe in being prepared! I hope, if I go first, that my husband will have a small skull engraved on my marker.

My tombstone would be :

A Large replica of the Taj Mahal, except instead of white, it would be black marble. Etched in the monument I would want gothic symbols running through every inch of the building(as well as animals). Through out the symbolism I would want my favorite poets names to be mentioned as well as the historical figures I was obsessed with in my life, and that of those whom I loved in life. On the door would be my favorite poem called “The Day Is Done” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

I'm going out the ecologically sound way.

I want a natural funeral, where my remains are placed inside a cardboard box, and my body is untreated with embalming fluids. I want my family to bury me in a park (green cemeteries are starting to pop up now, and there is going to be one in my state; they're more park-like than your standard cemetery because they don't have stone monuments so you wouldn't even know people were buried there). To memorialize me, I want a cherry blossom buried ontop of my gravesite, since legend says that cherry blossoms get their blood-like color from the corpses buried beneath them, which is kinda cool.

Of course, before all of this takes place, I would like my family to participate in the age old art of post mortem photography.

I am going to be cremated and put into a cemetery with a small plot, and a flat simple tombstone with the words, "Here Lies (full name), and she still couldn't give a f@ck.:}

I want a tombstone with my face carved in the front top. Watching down on the following text: ''Do you want to trade place, please?''

I don't want people to remember me, so letters on my tombstone would be small and unreadable.
