Post Hairstyles, current or past
I just recently got a deathawk, and dyed it nice and red. I had a deathawk before, and have had a few faux deathawks lol.

What is your current hairstyle? Any photos. Ever have some really creative or interesting hairstyle in the past that was your favorite?

I know when I go to the hairstylist I never know what to get. So, as well as talking about our updoos and downdoos of the hairdoos, we can inspire in our fellow denizens of the board.

I finished dyeing it yesterday

A not so good angle.

Well, furthest I ever went was to have purple streaks in my hair... Although I did have the streaks purple and blue at one point as well. Mind you, I love my long hair far too much to part with it. Never had it shorter than shoulder-length since it grew out as a baby, actually. :P Now, I just have it black (faded to brownish-reddish-black), and I'm thinking of growing it down to my waist or something, and keeping it black. :)

I just realized that I have no pictures of my hair! I dye mine about every month, so it's been black, red, auburn, and blonde. I also cut my hair really short...short blonde curls look interesting with tan skin. ^^

Cool!

I've always had long hair, but last year I decided to get a bob.

It's shoulder length, now. In a week or so I will be dying it purple. Why don't we have an option to type in colors? :?

Anyway, I'll be posting pix of my hair after it's bleached and after the purple is applied!

Purple you say? I was looking up purple hair in relation to chav styles, I've seen lots of the severe pulled back with a purple splotch in the front styles on girls recently. That and the malnourished look (may be real given their diet) seems to be in.

Here is the link: http://www.hairdyegallery.co.uk/purplepage1.html Low on the chav count and some really cool ideas.

I take it chav = douchebag in England?

Why wouldn't they just dye it all instead of a spot?

Cool gallery! I enjoyed going through it. Tomorrow we buy the bleach for my hair, then I wait on the dye to come. I ordered it yesterday. I'm excited, I didn't get to have crazy hair when I was a kid cuz I always had a job. So, now that I'm a stay-at-home mom I can pretty much do whatever I want. ;p

I've been looking up tutorials and tips so that it'll last as long as possible, too. Hair Crazy is a good place to read. Last time I bleached my hair I was a teenager. Just bleached it blond(no pix of that), nothing crazy.

I'm going to tell you right now, let the dye soak for much, much longer than directed. With coloured dyes, like Manic Panic, Directions, Special Effects, etc. you can keep them on for hours on end, really. And Special Effects was the brand we had the best luck with at my house, Manic Panic is utter garbage.

Oh, and I had streaks in my hair, got a problem with that? :P They were paired with black. :D

Letalis, was talking about just spots in the front dyed. Streaks don't look silly, but having a random spot dyed on the front of your head would. ;)

I'll be using Paul Mitchell Inkworks. I plan on leaving it on for at least a few hours, maybe overnight. I've also been reading that it should be rinsed with cold water, I already do that in the shower. I've heard good stuff about the PM, but SFX was gonna be my second choice if I couldn't find it.

my hair is a wonderful style called "lazy natural" its where I trim my own hair straight across as short as I want to and let it go without dying it (and rarely fixing it) to grow out as long as I can stand it until I get sick of it and slice it off again because, as the name would imply, I am quite lazy.

I really shouldn't have admitted that on here...will this admittance result in losing gothpoints from my card?

Hi,
Just to clarify things I was on about the forehead splotch of color, personally I can't wait to go silver/gray, just that I may be in my late 50's before that happens. Either that or I get married again to speed up the process.

PS: http://www.emoboyfriend.com I did actually LOL, and now want the "Shakespeare hates your emo poems" tee-shirt.

PPS: Just plain weird - http://kittywigs.com/pink.html

*edit* de-douched.

Please do not turn this thread into a chav-bashing fest or I will have to close it down.

No one likes a douchebag, but mods dislike people whinging about douchebags in unrelated forums more.

Today is D-Day(dying day)!

I've got the bleach sitting on my head right now. I'll edit with pix tomorrow of the bleached, then purple hair!

^_^

-- Thu Jul 30, 2009 1:55 pm --

Okay, so I'm still bleaching my hair today. No, not with the same batch of bleach. ;p It turned out orange yersterday so I had to redo it. It actually felt silky afterward, but tangly.

I should be purple sometime tomorrow. After I wash this batch off in an hour, I'm letting it dry, then putting the PM purple on and leaving it probably till the morning.

-- Thu Jul 30, 2009 2:24 pm --

Just wanted to add: For the past couple months I've been reading to see if there were any new tips on bleaching hair. Ya know, new rules and such since I was a teen. Seems to be the same, but I've seen a scary amount of people recommend to others to just go to a salon, 'Cuz otherwise you'll totally fry your hair!! There's no way you can do it the right way on your own!'. I only think that people should go to a salon for perms and if they just really don't want to bother with making a mess. It's seems some people are convinced for some reason that no one can do anything with their hair at home and bleaching should never be done ever, or only at a salon. I don't understand this mindset, that you can only get decent results with your haircolor by a professional. I used to have a damn good hairdresser and she never once told me that it was bad for me to color my hair at home.

I've found that the meanest look an already-balding 21 year old male can pull off is a very close buzz. I've also found that it relieves the color conflict of my particular shade of brown hair and some black hats to which I am partial.

Thanks, Mistik! ^_^

So, I've had my new hair for 3 days so far and I'm lovin' it!

This is what it looks like bleached. Yeah, I know, I could never pull off blond.

This is what it looks like now. I really like having purple hair. This is Paul Mitchell Inkworks in purple. If you can ever find it online I highly recommend it. It still looks like the first day that I put it on. It also helps if you leave the color on for as long as possible from what I've heard(I left it on overnight) and rinsing it with cold water.
