Re: Right Clothing Color for a Dark Skin Tone...
I'm black also (though I'm of the light brown sugar flavor), but from experience, one of the best colors on dark skin is emerald green. Darker but brilliant colors work best, such as dark purples and blues as well as red. The same goes for make-up (specifically aimed at girls). Jewel toned eyeshadows work best, but - just in my opinion - please don't wear bright red lipstick. >< Also, I think white looks pretty good against dark skin, though, in America at least, it's a bit overused with that whole "pimp" style. -_-But if you have the right accessories (I saw a black model by the name of Amanda Tea in an issue of Gothic Beauty who sported a lovely white gothic lolita gown with PVC underbust corset and it looked nice) you can pull off white without sending the wrong messages. And to close, the style I think *absolutely* works with black men is STEAMPUNK. I've seen a'plenty of black gents in steampunk garb and so far I've seen one that didn't look handsome. So I hope that helped. ^_^

No problem. Yeah, I lean more toward "regal" colors such as blue and violet as opposed to "sinful" colors like green and red. But I have been wanting to more touches of green in my wardrobe. ^_^

What's sinful about green and red?
I like green and red compliments my complexion, well it did when I had more color.

I agree with Carpi, the steam punk style could work. Or, even try a nice suit. I'd steer clear of the white suit, only because it's seen so much with the "pimp" style, as said, but it also associates all too much with things like mafia. o_O However, if you were to do the suit thing, you could try a coloured suit, like the red, or the blue, or whatever with a black undershirt, and some funky accessories (necklaces, chains, etc.). Funky suit here.Another idea... Sorta.Darker-skinned CorpGoth womanIn fact, take alot of inspiration from Corporate/Victorian Goth styles, maybe?

I often associate green with "greed" and red with "lust/seduction", two of the deadly sins. Plus it always seems like bad guys wear those colors more often. Colors like blue and purple were reserved for the upper class and royalty in the middle ages, because of the indigo that was used to produce such colors.

Fitting that those are the colors of Christmas, no?

moss green and bronze. moss green looks beautiful on black peopla, and i don't know why the fashion world hasn't seen this yet. bronze is a good accent to moss green, you could maybe get a bronze fabric marker and work on a moss green shirt.

A lust and greed for presents is what makes the holiday season go round. And bronze and gold does go perfectly against dark skin. I can go either way, but I prefer silver over gold.
