Post Lunchbox Goths and Coffin Earrings
A similar thread in the Gothic Board finally got me around to asking this question. I really like lunchbox-styled purses. They're so nifty and hardy and chic, plus they have locks on them to prevent asshole thievery. I have one myself (though not gothic styled: it's a dark blue brocade purse, but it goes well with a lot of outfits). I would like another one that is more goth, but I have no idea where to find any - I actually happened upon my lunchbox at a dollar store. :? So does anyone know of any online providers?

Also, I've been wanting a pair of coffin earrings, preferably the kind that open and close. I've been seeing these charms everywhere in the past, but I never cared to get any. Of course when I finally want some, they're nowhere to be found. -_-

Any help would be most grateful.

Well as far as the purse, Art of Adornment may help. In fact, Valerian, the store owner, is also a forum member. :)

Alchemy Gothic may have what you're looking for. Though, never seen coffin earrings that opened and closed. Seen pendants, bracelets, and belt buckles, but thats the extent of it.

Thanks for the links, Arc. I'll admit that $79.99 is a bit out of my price range for a purse, but it has given me inspiration for a new DIY project.

All I have to offer is this and this. Sorry. I would like to do a box purse project one day. I always wanted one, but if I keep collecting purses people might start thinking I'm girlie or something.

Hehe. Thanks, Wolfie. I don't care what anyone says: the lunchbox will be the grandmommy of all purses!

And I already have an idea for a birthday project. :)

And here's an article from Morbid Outlook on the topic: http://www.morbidoutlook.com/fashion/ar ... chbox.html

Oh, dammit!

Now I have to make a small cell phone/coin purse and a wooden box purse in the future!

Coffin earrings that open and close. I'm...filing...that away for the near future when my studio is back up and running. And yes that's a jewelry pun.

Yeah. And as a treat, the coffins I saw years ago had - get this - little skeletalized corpses in them! <3

I realize I'm a bit late to the discussion but I did a search and came upon this thread. I've actually just finished making a very limited run of coffin case 'lunchbox' purses. This design is something that took years of thought and months to make it a reality. I guarantee you won't find a case like this anywhere. Each one was handmade and has a customizable lining.

I think it's incredibly rude when people join a forum simply to sell their merchandise. It makes me considerably less likely to buy anything they have to offer. This subculture is not a money-making machine. Please treat us with more respect.

Does look like a pretty nice box though.

It's not really spam if the person posting doesn't give a website or any other means whereby purchases can be made. Although I will agree that the posting sounds like a sales pitch, even though the subject is relevant to this topic.

And let's give the person a break - that's a pretty beautiful object.

Indeed, I see nothing wrong with a craftsperson showing off something they've created. Isn't that within the DIY ethos?

Maybe if they hadn't said 'limited run' or 'customizable lining' it wouldn't have come off as shilling. Both of those are things people say to drum up interest in a marketable product.
