you committed a crime just so you could get some more black and white striped linen to sew.
Every ink splotch the psych shows you resembles either a skull or a bat.
You are the first one strangers ask for directions to the masquerade ball.
You have enough jewelry to smelt a full set of plate-mail. (And already have twice.)

You know you're Goth if you flay people who call you a satanist (had to say it).

You know you're Goth when your classmates tie garlic on them (that happened to me ).

You know you're goth if you dress up to meet your friend at a shop that just so happens to have an anime convention happening, and are mistaken for a cosplayer...

You know you're -really- goth when you accidentally win that cosplay contest.

That actually happened to me once. I was at a bookstore this past summer, coincidentally on the day that Breaking Dawn (gag) came out. About 8 people came up to me and asked if I was entering into the costume contest. I didn't even know there was anything going on that day.

Gold.... Happened to myself as well.... no less at a convention I hadn't wanted to go to, I was ever so angry with being mistaken for a cosplayer.

(I did so enjoy watching them slink away. Thought I felt like a douche afterwords for being such a prick.)

Don't have anything to contribute, but I totally agree with you here. When I say I like gothic rock, people say (in a slightly condesending way) "Oh you mean like Marilyn Manson???"

And I'm like, *rolls eyes* "For the last time he's not goth!!!"

I don't even like him the slightest bit. Maybe his old Spooky Kids stuff...but he's more metal and I'm not into that.

You know your goth if the seat next to you is the last one taken. (because of the way you look, not the way you smell)

Actually I was trying a new fabric dye (that's the rolled-up fabric hanging in front of the curtains). I squeezed the rolled fabric for an effect and learned that this type of dye is WAY more permanent than good ole Rit.
