Re: It's Back! Pet Peeves Returns!!!
That's what I said, Wolfie! My guess, they had someone call the establishment some weeks ago inquiring about it, and the person who answered the phone said they would have to pay some reservation fee (because places like this make money on the churn, and if a group of people take over the whole place for 2-3 hours, they lose money). They didn't want to pay the fee, so they decided that they would just show up! The place is a sports grill, and they also have this trivia game we like to play. They brought in these big balloons that blocked your view of any TV in the place (another one of the reasons we were leaving, because we couldn't see the TVs that had the trivia on them).

Dropping clean washing on the floor, so you have to stick it back in for another rinse. It drives me nuts.
Also, pervy guys intent on asking personal questions about a lady's cycle. That's none of your business you creep, now butt out before I start asking personal questions about your plumbing!

I also hate it when they act super familiar with you. I hate it when i start to loose focus on a goal i set for myself... I'm going to drink some coffee and hopefully recover that lost drive.

My pet peeve for the last few days: muscle injuries. More specifically, a pulled hamstring. It's more uncomfortable than painful, but it's still annoying when you struggle to do the simplest things- like climbing the stairs for instance. It's my own stupid fault, but I'd rather be able to at least get around the house easily.

My Pet Peeve:
It REALLY fucking pisses me off when I am told that I am ignorant of the truth of Islam because I defended the religion by saying it was not a religion of hatred and evil, but that any religion can be hateful and evil depending on who is following it and how others see that following. I also said that the few who are violent and preach and practice violence should never represent the whole which does not share their ideas.
This person went on to talk about how only Christianity is a religion of peace and he wished more people would understand that. I say bullshit. There is no such thing as a religion of peace. Nor is there any such thing as a religion of violence. Religion is only what each individual makes it out to be. To call me ignorant for saying that not everyone in Islam is violent was wrong.
I am NOT ignorant for my beliefs on religion simply because you don't like what I have to say regarding understanding and tolerance.
And this shit coming from a person who posted a hate article about the evils of one man in Islam...yet his religion is the one of peace and tolerance. Give me a break.

Couldn't agree more with you- that is utter bullshit. He's just stuck too far up his own arse to have a full picture of other religions, including Christianity. Midieval Fantasy wrote: There is no such thing as a religion of peace. Nor is there any such thing as a religion of violence. I agree with that, but how can he claim that Christianity is a "religion of peace" when some of the branches of Christianity, such as Catholicism, has rather a lot of blood-splattered pages in its history book. (Not offending the religion, since I am part of it myself.) To me that doesn't make sense. Midieval Fantasy wrote: And this shit coming from a person who posted a hate article about the evils of one man in Islam Why even bother doing that? It's just one man- that doesn't mean the whole bloody faith is evil. Heck, if that were true, every person on the planet would be a murdering freak. Get a grip. Some people's minds work in bizarre ways...

Would you believe that fight between christians and muslims has gone on since biblical times? it starts with the "Holy land" jerusalem. In the 1600's they called it crusades? Even christianity was not one of peace at one time, before jesus came, we sacrificed goats just like everyone else. Actually thats why we DONT sacrifice anymore because he was the ultimate sacrifice. Please don't let this asshole affect how you view me. As a christian and a human being I feel people should be judged by their actions. Not their race, creed, or religion.

Re: It's Back! Pet Peeves Returns!!!
I wasn't speaking of Christians altogether. I don't view groups as groups, per se, but as individuals, especially when it comes to religion. The post was directed at one person and one person alone and my opinions on the subject of what was spoken on so I apologize if there was a mus-communication about that.
The Crusades were terrible, and needless deaths occurred on both sides. Just because a person doesn't understand a faith it doesn't give the person the right to be their judge and jury and condemn them as evil or violent. This goes to everyone of everyone religion and lack thereof.

Re: It's Back! Pet Peeves Returns!!!
My pet peeve is when a member of someone's religion does something bad (yet still entirely within the scope of human nature), and others belonging to that religion defend their religion by saying: "Oh, he wasn't REALLY a Christian/Jew/Muslim/Hindu/Wiccan/Whatever, because WE don't do things like that in our religion."
All I can say to people like that is: Get real. People do bad shit in every religion – and also people with no religion at all do bad shit.
That doesn't mean that all Christians/Jews/Muslims/Wiccans/Atheists/Whatever are bad people. It just means that we are all individuals, capable of doing both good and bad.
But this sense of religious superiority -- "True believers in MY religion don't do bad things if they're following the rules" -- is BS, because people will do what people will do, and find a "rule" to justify their actions. And they will still proudly carry the card that says they belong to this, that, or the other religion (or no religion). And, more often than not, the authority who handed them the card isn't going to take it back unless they come right out and denounce their god and their religion (or non-religion).

I'm really going to start laying into him soon, no one else seems bothered by it, but knowing what I know about this individual, I frankly find it chilling. No use talking to the mods from that forum though, they are useless, despite the fact they have a predator on the loose.

Re: It's Back! Pet Peeves Returns!!!
Pet peeve today is once again work-related...
When someone asks you to go do something then comes round and fucks it all up right after you finished doing whatever it was.
When people want to get argumentative for a stupid reason
And when a man uses the phrase "that's what happens when women try to do it" around me. I may actually file a formal complaint over that last one.
