Here's my random story...
While at work today I happened to flip through the Vancouver Sun and ran across an article that informed me that scientists have "determined that fish can feel pain."
I honestly had to take a moment to reflect on the stupidity of this.
Thanks, Science! Nevermind that cure for cancer... keep working on figuring out the obvious!

I think I bombed my Biology Standardized test today! I've gotten about 25 hours of sleep in the last five days thanks to recurring nightmares! Yippee Hooray!

Lately I have come down with a paranoia about things. I fear that I may fail my Chemistry of U.S. history class, though I should have no reason to do so, unless I fail the exams. Oh...scary, scary, scary...

It's my capstone...
The thesis: Proving that Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart is an Orwellian allegory much in the way that Animal Farm is.
Yay. Oh, it gets better. I'm supposed to write on what an Orwellian allegory is, which I've found nearly nil research on, and the paper for that was due wednesday at 5:00. That was 31 hours ago. I have nothing on paper yet.

I sprained my ankle last Friday (Nachty will vouch for me) and even though it's finally healing itself, I still feel incredibly uncomfortable in my own skin right now! It's driving me batty! Oh and I also have a terrible case of cabin fever since I can't walk anywhere. I'm really ready to rip my hair out.
Grrr . . . I just wish it would fucking heal already so I can at least take a walk somewhere.
Double Grrr . . .

I've been wearing white socks to work this whole week instead of black socks. More out of necessity, as all my black socks are dirty. But either no one has noticed or no one cares, because no one has said anything to me about it. I've fooled them all!!! I can get away with anything! Mwa ha ha!!!
---Shadow, will come to work naked next week

Araknyd is supposed to be writing a freelance article on his favourite nightclub for a goth zine, and has NO work.
Araknyd has been contacted by the Royal Navy to offer sponsorship during University...in exchange for conscription, no doubt.
Araknyd's New Rocks look like a quarry. Araknyd HATES rain.
Araknyd's connection smells.
Umm. Araknyd could babble on about his frankly disastrous love life, but remembers all the time he shouted at people who did that. So, you're lucky

Lets see two weeks to start/finish my english course. I just bombed my prelim 3 weeks before my final. It was also my last offical day in school.
Parents let me replace speakers on my computer, now banning me from using them when my mum's in (she can stand computer games fx or rock music.)So I stick a classical cd on full blast as revenge.
I was also blinded for half an hour while people took photos of me as a 'normal'. Pay a pound to dress as me, stuff that wore uniform and nothing classed as 'rock' clothing.

I have to go look for a job today because I am broke. I hate looking for a job. I hate filling out applications.
I'm going to an arts festival today with a girl I don't understand.
I miss my long(ish) hair, even though everyone says I look better with short hair.
I wish I had money.

My quick vignette:
You know you've taken too many Russian history courses when you've been using the same email program for two years, yet you still giggle to yourself each time you click the button entitled "PURGE DELETED"...

Last Saturday, I got moderately wasted on Bacardi Limon. I turned out the lights, lit some candles, put on some darkwave, and danced around my room alone for like, thirty minutes. Has anyone else ever done this? Or am I just a fucked-up person?

Change "darkwave" to "EBM and trance," and remove the Bacardi bit, and yeah, I've done that.

Have you ever looked down while shaving your testicles and thought to yourself, "Oh Jesus please let that be an ingrown hair or something..."

I spent a fortune between yesterday and today on concert tickets for the summer. I spread them all out on my bed and was excited for about an hour just staring at each in turn.
