Could you teach a cat how to clean otherwise though? As in "clean something besides themselves"? Now that I think of it, probably not --and knowing these three cats, only one of them I'd trust with thumbs, if not for the fact that she's just not-bright-enough to be easily influenced. Dogs may have proportionately larger brains than cats, but cats have at least twice as many neural receptors, meaning they can process more complex information than dogs can --and Vermin has very dog-like intelligence for a cat, which seems to be the underlying factor in what makes her so neurotic.

I think I officially have given up on a number of things over the past few weeks. In order not to sound like I am whining, I'm going to just leave it at that. In other news, SPRING BREAK!!!!!! Whooo, I get to study for a test for calculus that I'll be taking as soon as it's over!

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
What to do when your Biffle posts something kind of insensitive but you don't want to start a fight? It is probably not what I just did, but we'll see. Also, i think i mentioned being hit on before at the convention center. The guy was back again today. I had to ask him to leave me alone three times. One more encounter and I might freak out a bit. My gerbil escaped at two in the morning. I spent twenty minutes trying to catch him before i went back to sleep. I had to flush him out of my closet once I got home from school. I think my TOTM is on it's way because I've been feeling very melancholy lately without real cause.

I saw this on the news last night, and was absolutely appalled. Aggressive Parents Ruin Easter Egg HuntI did snicker about the name "helicopter parents": parents who hover over their children and are involved in every aspect of their lives (except for when they bring their little darlings into our store, and let them run wild).

I'm only going to be 24 this year. I did not do a whole lot of the "little league" stuff because of my disability. Still, I can remember still having to actually try to win stuff growing up. We may all have received a trophy or two, but we still had to play the game. If the kids were really keen, they'd stop text-messaging and playing on their Xboxes and start running around in the forest like any kid should be doing - it'll be a good prep for any future egg hunts.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Cocktails before the gig seemed like a good idea, until a while after the gig...when I realised I'd spent 10 minutes gushing about how much I loved the band, to the drummer. Pretty sure I mentioned buying his album 4 times to him too, ugh, embarassed is not the world. He and the singer are friends with a friend of mine, so there's a chance I could bump into them socially, so I've decided I'm going to hide in my house for the next 10 years. Hopefully by then he'll have forgotten me.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
My thought for today, which I couldn't get out of my head since it popped in this morning: Why are there so many christmas songs and do I not even know a single easter song?
Are there any easter songs to begin with?

Are there any easter songs to begin with? Maybe because Christians didn't traditionally go Easter caroling? But I imagine they still sing Easter songs in their churches. And there are a number of secular Peter Cottontail and "In Your Easter Bonnet" songs I've heard on teevee and stuff. -- Nephele

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
I've never heard any easter songs. Possibly because one funeral is much the same as any other, even if the dead guy is Jesus.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Yes, he rose from the dead on easter. There are specific easter songs like there are Christmas songs. Except that easter songs don't annoy the crap out of everyone cos they're not played up and down. Mainly they praise him rising again ,like Up from the grave he arose ,if I remembre right. Hope that helps

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
I honestly can't remember hearing any in the 20 or so years I went to mass every Sunday.
Might have something to do with him being reborn supernaturaly being more theologically important than some kid getting spooged out of some woman.
