 Re: What is your philosophy?
I started to write this out, but it sort of became more of a manifesto then part of a forum thread topic... I might post it in a blog and link it later... Till then the "Readers Digest" version...

 Re: What is your philosophy?
I have my own philosophy but it is still in its infancy, to tell you the truth it's simply a mix of various 'revelations' I've had but with no set stucture. I should really sit down and organize it (if I can find all the bits of paper.)

For my own philosophy, I voted "still developing". Because I find it really pretentious to say that something is a philosophy. To me, 'philosophy' also is more of a practice, something to actively develop than a finished 'product'. You may end up with 'a philosophy' in the end, but, to me, one or two or a couple of thoughts on 'life' aren't enough to say you have 'a philosophy'. That being said, I do hope to one day end up with something I can call a philosophy.

 Re: What is your philosophy?
I believe that evil is a relative term, and since society tends to see things far differently from me, I try to stray from it so I can at least die knowing that the people who's beliefs I challenged during life are standing over my grave going, "I'm so glad she's finally dead. She was insane." Does that make sense?

 Re: What is your philosophy?
My philosophy is my signature:
"I pray that I may have the Wisdom of Buddha, the Peace of Gandhi, the Balance of Laozi, the Words of Confucius, and the Love of Jesus to guide me in all things."
I don't always follow it, but I try to.

^^And I love that saying! Actually, the first time I read that in your signature MidievalFantasy, I thought, "I should be more like that".

Thank you, and please feel free to call me Midi. I like the idea of incorporating many different spiritual beliefs into my ideology. I love who Buddha thought and I often look to Buddha for guidance. In that respect, I also follow Gandhi in my love of pacifism and non-violence. Laozi was about Taoism and balance in life such as the Yin-Yang (as was Buddha) and his principles are very true to me. In the regard so also do I value the sayings of Confucius. Lastly the teachings of Jesus is very heartfelt. He believed in tolerance and love. If I can be as they were- even in the lowest most simple of forms- I'd be proud to call myself a spiritualist at the end of my life.

 Re: What is your philosophy?
I'm cynical when it comes to people, but not to life itself.
A great deal of stress in my life comes from two things:
1. humanity and 2. having to be one of them
That's generally why I refer to ordinary people as "muggles", "mundanes", or "mortals".
It seems like the only reason THEY are here is to die.
I see death as mere transition between multiple planes of existence, but I get the nudging feeling they won't do much in the other planes either.

 Re: What is your philosophy?
I agree with centurion. Have you ever looked at someone you hate and realize they're just like you, and that you might end up like them? It's in human nature to follow people we love, even after we've stopped loving them, and it makes me sick. As for Buddhism, I'll never understand it. Peace is not in my nature. I tend to burn things when there's too much harmony in my environment.

 Re: What is your philosophy?
As an entity which can only consciously traverse three dimensions at will, it is to be expected that one's philosophy is subject to great changes. Currently I see life as a meaningless paradigm. The concepts of worth and meaning are human concepts which we use to understand our environment as to better survive in it. Pain is only a manner of intelligence allowing lifeforms to be aware of physical distress. By this logic, we could say that there is no cruelty. I believe this to be a false misunderstanding of my previous statement, as needless suffering, albeit inevitable, does not benefit the existence of life as a whole. Regardless, life exists only because of the interaction of specific elements to create self-replicating, symbiotically-reactive matter as affected by certain conditions, such as radiation. Life is simply a product of the conditions provided by the big bang of this precise universe. Had this been parallel universe, in which the big bang had created different conditions of gravity, electromagnetism and thermodynamics, life may not have even existed. Basically, we're puny humans and we don't know anything, because we're stuck wandering around three dimensions while the fourth sweeps us forward perpetually. We would be completely unaware of the other six dimensions of reality.
tl;dr lol i dunno

 Re: What is your philosophy?
I believe that life is without any sort of meaning or purpose. Intrinsic value is just something people manifest to comfort their insecurity with the fact that life itself is completely, and utterly, 'chaotic'. The entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and unlikely to change in the totality of existence.
