Re: Introduction Thread - New? Introduce yourself here!
I stumbled across this site a year or so ago, but I never worked up the courage to join. Lately I've been trying to get over my sometimes debilitating shyness, among other things, so why not give this a shot? So hello to all~.
Not much to say about myself. I'm 21, female, and I hope to be a fiction novelist one day. However, I'm more likely to become a crazy cat lady when one day comes.

I'm Alucard and it is my sincerest pleasure to meet you. I'm a bit shy too, not to mention isolated all the time. Sometimes it is hard to work up the courage to do things under these conditions, but you never know until you try right? Oh and I wish you good luck on your quest to be a novelist! Anyway, welcome again to Gnet. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Re: Introduction Thread - New? Introduce yourself here!
Greetings everyone! I recently found out about this site from reading The Encyclopedia Gothica by Liisa Ladouceur. I actually went to the Goth.net site a few years ago to browse the links and read the "What is Goth?" page but somehow managed to miss the fact that there was also a forum. A little bit about me: I'm 20 and a huge music fan. I mostly listen to metal but I also like some goth bands, especially Sisters Of Mercy. I enjoy going to concerts. I love anything to do with the Medieval and Victorian Eras and have had a fascination with Ancient Egypt since I was a child. I want to visit the Great Pyramids one day and also tour every castle in Europe. I also love reading, mostly fantasy books and vampire literature. Reading is actually how I discovered the gothic subculture. One day, about five years ago, we were required to read The Mask Of The Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe in class and that prompted me to look into his other works. Discovered I really liked gothic literature so I decided to find out more about the subculture and realized that I had a lot of common interests. Funnily enough, I had never considered myself goth before then. I suppose that was because I never knew anything about it besides the usual mainstream clichés, which aren't even all that accurate. My hobbies include jewelry making, singing and belly dancing (no, not all at the same time ). I also love fashion, shopping on line and experimenting with makeup. There are no other creatures of the night currently living in my town as far as I can tell so I don't have any like-minded friends. Anyway, I wish you all the best. Hopefully, I'll be welcome here.

Hey, guys. I'm new, but not so new. I was once called Sword of the Heretic a few years back, but I forgot my password and I no longer have the email addy used for the retrieval, so I just decided to make a new nick.
Cheers.

Re: Introduction Thread - New? Introduce yourself here!
Hullo all! I'm actually new to the gothic sub-culture so feel free to correct me if I make any mistakes. I've been prowling on this site for a bit and I finally worked up the courage to hit the "submit" button to become a member. About me: I am twenty-two and I work at a small family run book store (I'm not related to the owners). I love listening to music a lot and I play acoustic guitar--though not very well, I'm working on that. My favourite band so far is Siouxsie and the Banshees, they are so awesome! Other non gothic artists I like are: October Project, Skillet, Loreena McKennitt, the Bee Gees, Cat Stevens and a TON of seventies rock bands. I love to write and just participated in Camp NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) for the first time and though my novel is crap, the experience was amazing! Normally I write fanfiction and poetry, but I'm slowly working my way up to creating my own characters and worlds. Fantasy, historical fiction and mystery are my favourite genres. I love to make my own jewelry--especially earrings--and I'm addicted to feathers for some reason, though not on my clothes. Aaaaaand that's all that I can think of, I'm not that interesting of a person.

Re: Introduction Thread - New? Introduce yourself here!
Hello my name is Amanda.
When I'm not fining room for a joke in many situations (approiate times,of course, and my humer is pretty clean) I enjoy talking about something different from what people usually discuss. Often I'll pull people into deep conversations and we end up learning something deeper together.
I like a wide variety of music and my interests seem to make me an eccentric. Usually I'm listening to music like vnv nation mind.in.a.box sisters of mercy or bauhaus. I really like the old kmfdm songs I wish more bands had that sound and lyrical style.
anyway,here I am
