 Your Newest Enthusiasms
I have two:
Thanks to a post by centurion, I've investigated Therion in greater depth, and I'm REALLY liking this band!
But even more than that, I've been simply blown away by 'Meshuggah'!!!! Next to Dream Theatre, these guys have quickly assumed second place on my metal list!
What AMAZING musicians!

 Re: Your Newest Enthusiasms
Not exactly new to this band but it's only recently I've really started to obsess over the band "The Veils" (from New Zealand). Think Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds crossed with The Smashing Pumpkins.

 Re: Your Newest Enthusiasms
After seeing 'This is my normal state' I'm willing to give them lots of love. A small band, I liked the music and am only disappointed that the CD (which was free BTW) only had three tracks. I wish it could of included their whole set which had more variety, and a good solid number (differing from the fully ethereal stuff). They had technical difficulties as well but soldiered on. I wish them well in Tokyo.

What AMAZING musicians! Oh I love Therion! Black Sun is my ringtone Just today I stumbled upon a band called Birdeatsbaby. They are dark cabaret and they use a cello and a violin!

I can't believe that, as a Canadian, i have all but ignored VOIVOD till now!!!!!! Shame on ME!! This is first-rate progressive metal with a thrash metal kick-ass energy, and even a slight trace of punk now and then.

They probably look good on you; they'd doubtless make me look like a Skid Row homeless drunk.
