Post Southern Gothic
Any fans of this style of music?
I personally only know 2 bands (both fronted by the same guy) "16 Horsepower" and "Woven Hand", but I love their sound, if anyone could recommend more bands I'd be grateful :)
I'll just post some vids of the bands I know

16 Horsepower :
Haw
Black Soul Choir
Cinder Alley
Day of the Lords (Joy Division cover)

Woven Hand :
Dirty Blue
Sparrow Falls
Into the piano
Ain't no sunshine (Bill Withers cover)

I can definitely get into some of that! I like dark music with bluesy/southern sounds.

When I hear "southern gothic" I skip and assume the literary sub-genre. If I were to put that term in a musical context, I would assume that it would have that gothabilly/psychobilly sound (probably because I always think Elvis Presley instead of the surf rock roots). This is different though. :P

Post Re: Southern Gothic
Well I first heard it described as Southern Gothic a few years ago, I think these days it's called Alt. Country, I prefer the former, I just think it fits better, and anytime I've looked up other Alt. Country, they had nothing in common with these guys, so I'm kind of lost in the genres here :P
