 The School Dance from Hell...
While there have been, and always will be, a lot of similar comments, that below from Ailahh in the "Bands you Hate" thread finally made me realise that this is a thread whose time has come. Ailahh wrote: They never play any good music at school things, I wish they played good music but then like the whole school but me would hate it XD So... Let's put together the ideal playlist for a dance knowing full well that NO-ONE in their right minds - except us - would ever dance to it... I'll start out. Because I strongly agree with something Wolfie once said in a thread called "Wedding Reception Music!", I'll go with "Hades/Pluton" by Sopor Aeternus; I think I'd also like to hear "Temple of Love" by the SoM, and probably "Bela Lugosi's Dead"... But they're the first off the top of my head; what would YOU guys want to dance (or wobble in a slightly off-kilter fashion if you're anything like me) to?

I'd like to dance to "That Wheel's On Fire" by Siouxsie and the Banshees and "Cabaret Fortune Teller" by Audra. To add some of my beloved mediaeval vibes, "Stella Splendens" by Qntal.

I think I might like a DCD day and a Sopor evening. Requests for 'chrirpy chirpy cheap cheap' and other horrors to be met by extreme non-violence.

Dead Stars by Covenant would make me get my boogie shoes on, and maybe Doing the Unstuck by The Cure.

I'm going to chuck in "Last Exit for the Lost" (Fields of the Nephilim) for some slow smoochy moments at the start, then watch as the pace picks up and turns into a bit of a boogie...

And I remember back when I first noticed your siggy and thought "Yay! Another fan!" One of my favorite places to dance is Release the Bats, because they're heavy on the trad/deathrock.
