Horrible albums by your favorite bands?
Every band has that one album that just isn't worth our money. Post yours here
For me, it would be Megadeth's "Rust In Peace" just....nothing interesting about it.

Re: Horrible albums by your favorite bands?
I honestly can't think of any. I know I will probably lose everything goth about me for saying this, but I pay attention more to the song, than the album. Besides, I rarely ever buy albums. I always just get the individual songs. Very rarely do I buy the entire album and if I do spend money on a album, its because I either want it so badly I don't care about the songs because I just love the artist that much (as is the case with Omnia) or that I've heard all the wrongs already and they warrent the entire album being bought. To me every album has good merits and bad merits for each person, depending on what you like and what you're looking for. So to say an entire album is disliked isn't something I've come across yet unless I just disliked that artist, and in that case, never listened to their album.
I guess what I am trying to say every band I listen to has great songs, regardless of album for me and even then only a rare few as it is supreme enough for me to spend more than a few dollars on to get an entire album.
Am I banished now?

Re: Horrible albums by your favorite bands?
Skinny Puppy - The Greater Wrong of the Right How DARE they stick rap on a Skinny Puppy album!! HOW DARE THEY!!! If that wasn't bad enough, they don't even ATTEMPT to apologize for their offense by sticking any semi-good songs in for the remainder of the album. From someone who WORSHIPED Skinny Puppy as one of the sole representatives of my country in the industrial underground throughout my high school years, who grew up with classics like Mind: the Perpetual Intercourse, Cleanse Fold and Manipulate, and Too Dark Park, this bastard of a "reunion" album was completely uncalled for!! A cheap cash-in for the modern age of baggy shorts-clad mallcore industrial. Sopor Aeternus - Les Fleurs du Mal Not a horrible album by any means..... if it were any other artist, but c'mon!!! This is Sopor we are talking about!! The Ensemble of Shadows have fled...... scared off by this new palette of pastel-colored gothic pop music, as Anna has finally discovered that yes, she does indeed like sex, and this album is her telling the world about it. La Chambre D'echo was something of a taste of things to come, experimenting with electronic dance music, though it was forgivable due to it's outward appearance as some sort of experiment, with the overall atmosphere still remaining somewhat grim and pessimistic. Still, where are my vampyric crypt hymns of Ich Tote Mich...., or the medieval cathedrals of Todeswunsch, or the funeral laments of the Dead Lovers Sarabande saga???? Whatever happened to the age where Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows were the blackest of the black and darkest of the dark??? the age where NO BAND, not even Bauhaus, were goth next to Sopor??? *sigh* I suppose that throne will have to be relinquished to either Devil Doll or Sleep Chamber....

I have never really liked Faith and the Muse's album "The Burning Season". I think it feels weak compared to their other work, and songs like "Whispered in Your Ear" and "Visions" are too dance-pop for my taste. However, after "Ankoku Butoh" and seeing them perform live, the album has begun to grow on me a bit. I can now tolerate it and have listened to it a few times through in the past couple months. I discovered I really love "Sredni Vashtar". Also, I'm not the biggest Emilie Autumn fan, but I was really disappointed by the "Laced" side of "Laced/Unlaced". She is not a good enough classical violinist to try to flaunt her talent like that. As a classical musician myself, I found it too much to bear and I really can't listen to it. I think the "Unlaced" side is great, though.

Eat Me Drink Me is a complete and utter pile of shit. High End of the Low wasn't much better but it was a step away from being a whiny little bitch. I don't think he will make another good album.

I sincerely wish AVC would embrace her misanthropy again and quit being so damned....happy....in her music. GAH! She is far more 'Anna' than 'Varney' these days. Danzig ~ Blackaciddevil That album....was there a good song on it? I like 'Ashes' & 'Sacrifice'(yes, the BDSM theme) the rest is complete shit! And I wish he would quit putting out those ridiculous 'Arias'. Godamnit Glenn, what the fuck are you smoking? Rammstein ~ Herzeleid Same thing. I could do with out that whole album except for a few songs. Should've started their catalog with 'Sehnsucht'. There aren't actually many albums that I hate by my favourite bands. I will speak no ill of either Queen or Type O Negative under any circumstances.

Rather than say "horrible album by my favorite bands" I'll say, "albums by my favorite bands that never stuck" (usually because they don't have any songs that I really got into or something was missing that made me >:( at it).
"10 Neurotics" by Black Tape for a Blue Girl "The Blood of My Lady" by Unto Ashes "Translucida" by Qntal

After the masterpieces that were, respectively, "Sheer Heart Attack", "Night At the Opera", "Day at the Races", "News of the World" (to a lesser extent, admittedly) and "Jazz", what the flying f*ck where they thinking with the "Flash Gordon" soundtrack album? A bigger pile of pointless poo I can scarcely imagine. Sorry. Rant over. Back to business, please...

Another one....Bon Jovi's "Have A Nice Day" and anything thereafter. Bon Jovi was hair metal, and they went country. Now they're trying to be rock again. It just doesn't work that way.
Besides, Jon Bon Jovi lost his balls after being in that stupid vampire movie. Idr what it was called, but it kinda sucked. Not as bad as Twilight, but still. It camout in 2003, i think. Had a spanish name.

The Smashing Pumpkins : "Zeitgeist" - A handful of decent songs are in there, but everything is buried under and destroyed by the worst production EVAR!!!111!! "Teargarden by Kaleidoscope" - Probably a little harsh to judge a 44 track album only 7 songs in, but so far it's utter toss. Retro 60's psychedelic forgettable toss at that.
David Bowie "Tonight" and "Never let me down" - It's ok Bowie, I forgive you, now let us never speak of these atrocities again x

Ok...so, i've thought about it...it doesn't have to be an album, really. individual songs work well too

Re: Horrible albums by your favorite bands?
hmm. Life is Killing Me and Dead Again by Type O Negative- These are both ok, but nowhere near as solid as the three before them. But I am biased due to the fact that both World Coming Down and Bloody Kisses changed my life a bit. 10,000 days by Tool- I haven't listened to Tool in like 2 years, but this album is simply worthless. I like all the others, i just listened to them way too much when I was younger. The new Corin Tucker album was a bit of a let down, but it's a solo album and all of the Sleater-Kinney albums rule. I don't like eat me drink me or mechanical animals, or golden age of grotesque much by Manson. I like The High End Of Low though. I didn't care for the last few albums by Rasputina after Frustration Plantation either. The Lungs EP by Big Black is pretty lame, but it has it's moments. It's not overall listenable, especially when compared to Atomizer or Songs About Fucking. I don't care for much of the newer My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult or Ministry stuff... Thrill Kill cause they got too cheesy disco and Ministry because they just got too thrash metal in a bad way. -- Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:33 am -- MistahCrow wrote: Eat Me Drink Me is a complete and utter pile of shit. I agree about Eat Me Drink Me, but if you consider that the album was meant as a form of catharsis after a year spent in a really isolated suicidal mind frame, I can forgive him. Sometimes suffering produces great art, and sometimes it generates crap. Still, I'd rather see Manson making not as good albums and trying different things than OD or otherwise kill himself.

Re: Horrible albums by your favorite bands?
I wouldn't say I hate these albums per se, but they just don't seem to entice me as much as the others.
Rammstein - Sehnsucht (Kind of bores me.)
Gary Numan - Outland (Not a lot of people like his "glam/pop" era, but this album really just does not appeal to me. I'll listen to Strange Charm and Berserker, but not Outland, save for a few tracks.)
