 Gothic Doll Collections...
I've decided that I would like to take up a new hobby...Doll Collecting. I love dolls that are eerie and darkly beautiful and I would love such dolls to grace my shelves with their presence. I've been looking into the "Bleeding Edge Goths" collection, but if anyone happens to have any favorite recommendations before I purchase my first doll, I'd love to hear.

Re: Gothy Dolls Around the Interwebs
I'm always quick to whore out BJDs (ball-jointed dolls), since they can easily be customized into the gothier sort (look at Dollheart clothing for some seriously awesome darkly pretty things). Someday I will own an Evangeline Ghastly as well.
(And to express my love for dollies there are old porcelain doll heads and limbs in my wedding centerpieces....)

Re: Gothy Dolls Around the Interwebs
IT really depends. I prefer resin myself- it's heavier and has more...warmth to it if you will. Resin will chip, and it will yellow over time. It's not as fragile as porcelain, but not as resilient as vinyl. However, I find resin to amazingly customizable and hard to damage. I've had dolls topple off shelves with no breakage (knock on wood). It's much easier, imo, to paint and repaint and mod resin. Vinyl has a lot of appeal, being light weight, squish-able, and usually easier to pose. So that's a round about way of getting to the fact I think I'd prefer a resin Evangline if I were going to repaint her and do some modding, and vinyl if I were to keep her as is.
Resin Evangeline's seem to have more options for eyes and wigs (they're most often permanent, but not always, on her vinyl versions). Resin is a bit bigger though, according the company.

If so you might wanna get as many ldd's as you can before the economy gets even worse.
