Yeah, I always thought the "rolling eyes" would have been a popular emoticon here. But... meh, I just remote-link what can't be found here. Image

Feh, images for emoticons are annoying, if anything they should all be removed. Be creative and let the ASCII smilies flow ;)

I think that our current 23 is a good amount. Past that, things just start getting silly, repetitive, or annoying.

Also, I want to add my opinion that my hatred of extremely large animated emoticons knows know bounds. I've seen boards where there are 10,001 animated emotes and each one is just as annoying as the other.

Besides... lets see some txt emotes. Get cretive if there's an emotion that's not been expressed.

Or someone could go the cheap ass route and paste smilies from places like mysmilies.com or related sites if there's an emotion that absolutely can't be expressed by the 23 we already have.

So far, I have not really foundd anything that cannot be expressed with the smileys already available. I host a couple of "special" ones myself to use from time to time, but it's nothing much. I think what we have is quite enough... If you're on a slow connection the smileys sometimes load very sloww, so adding more of them would further decrease the loading time of the FORUMs for modem-users.

Aside from the fact that there are already 23 to choose from, we only allow a maximum of 5 per post, and sometimes I wonder if even that's too many because some people go nuts with the stupid sodding emoticons.

The number you can use in a post is limited for a reason... generally excessive use of idiotic emoticons is something that goes hand in hand with the LOL!!!!1111!!!! WTF?!?!?!?! crowd that we wish to avoid here.

Anyway, if 23 smileys isn't enough to convey your feelings then I suggest going back to school and taking up writing classes in order to better express yourself.

Ah, those smilies are hilarious, Blood Rose. I am into creative things such as smilies. I have a strange facination for the bouncing silliness smilies create. Image

I'm not a fan of text smilies, since with text it is sideways. I like the bouncing silly smiles.
ImageI also think they are a unique, creative way of expressing yourself in addition to text. Wow, there are certaintly a lot of silly ones on there!

Well, since others are posting smilies they like from other sites, here's one I've always been fond of....

Image

As for new smilies for this board, I say "meh". The novelty of them would wear off in about a week or so. I think the ones we have now are fine. Although I do wish there was a blushing or a puking smilie. :p
