Wether you like those bands or not that's not too much of a problem. Just vote out of the two, which would u rather listen to?

Silverchair. Some Australian band. Lead singer is a pretty-boy.

Shihad. A New Zealand band. Had to change their name a couple of years ago when they broke into the American market as Shihad apparently sounded too much like jihad for the Americans to cope with.

I don't really care one way or the other. Not my style of music.

Silverchair.

Even though I respect Pacifier, they've worked hard to get to where they are. I heard they're doing quite well in the US. I like the Datsuns and the D4 better.

And this has what to do with Goth music exactly?

Aren't they(meaning Silverchair) the guys that put out that Cemetary song and an album called "Frogstomp" or something?

*checks cdnow.com*

A-Yup. Looks like it.

They weren't my thing then, they still aren't now. And I have no idea what/who/why the other band is.

BTW - Am I the only one who missed the bus as to the point of this thread?

I have no idea what you're talking about...
so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head.

First of to quote the Goth.net;

There is no specific thing that defines what you need to do or be to fit into the goth scene (except of course the implied black clothing). People in the goth scene all have different musical tastes, follow different religions, have different occupations, hobbies, and fashion sense.

please note the part about music tastes. An i'm guessing the poster put these two bands in because it's about Australia & Asia/Pacific bands in the Australia & Asia/Pacific forum, and if you don't know who at the very least silverchair is im guessing your not from the oceanic region of the world.
And lastly...i cant see the bunny...

Silverchair, i love them so much, Shihad/Pacifier are good too, but I like the Chair that lilbit better. Dryotriorchis is right, if you haven't heard of at least silverchair then you aren't from the area. And the musical tastes bit too.

Pacifier/Shihad all the way!

Silverchair never really did it for me. Could never understand what the fuss was about.

(Which reminds me - someone stole my Shihad CD! I miss it!)
