Another new English person here. Kinda looking to find some kind of scene in the UK outside of London, but looking at the post dates on everything here, this place seems pretty dead too. Shame.

This will hopefully be of interest to anyone within reach of London who is into traditional goth and post-punk (old and new). Invocation is a dark and atmospheric club night, set within the brick-arched Minories in Tower Hill. Invocation happens roughly 4 times per year, the next date being Saturday 23rd March.

You probably all heard of Sylvia Lancaster, a British girl that was beaten to death in 2007 for being different. Her mother Sylvia, has been tirelessly campaigning against hate crime and raising awareness amongst youngsters and teenagers, educating people about being accepting of people who look different, for the last couple of years.

Last week, Greater Manchester Police and Sussex Police are the first police forces in the UK to officially recognise attacks on people who belong to subcultures, as hate crimes. This is a huge step forward and great news for the campaign, as well as for those, who like Sophie, have been abused, whether verbally or physically.

It so important to share the message and to join each other in preventing people from being hurt, and in some cases from losing their lives to hate crime.
