Umm I guess it's OK. Not better than The Smashing Pumpkins. I dont think you should get it if you havent already. I liked how Robert Smith sang back up vocals for one of the songs and I also like Walking Shade but the rest I never feel like listening to so they dont get put on my IPod so I never hear them and say there just ok.

The songs sound a million times better live, and ofcourse Billy ever the showman knows how to work a crowd.
I personally like the album, not at first though, alot of the songs had to grow on me. I dont particularly like Walking Shade mainly for the reason that it is the most pumpkinesque song on the album, I like the fact that he moved so far away from what would probably be expected of him.
I think bands like New Order and Depeche Mode heavily influenced the creation of this album.
I dont think it can be called a bad album by any stretch of the imagination, but possibly an aquired taste.

Not a big fan of The Smashing Pumpkins, but I really like this album. The standout track for me is "Mina Loy," which I first heard on Letterman :p
I can also hear a definite DM influence, which isn't surprising considering that Corgan has not only contributed with a song to a DM tribute album, but has actually performed on stage with the band.

Personally, I think his solo project went quite well; despite the fact that I do agree with Gothic_Guy on the matte that it can't match up to The Smashing Pumpkins. But Billy Corgan seems to have returned to "being himself" in my opinion. His music is a bit more focused on his darker state of mind (unlike his last project ZWAN from what I read from interviews).

I honestly believe Zwan and Billy's solo album sound exactly like how the Pumpkins would have sounded if they had stayed together.
Billy isnt the same angst ridden, dissilusioned, journalist punching guy he was when he was churning out alt. rock anthems and riding around with the times biggest rock band. People grow, and so has Billy.
I think the progression from album to album (Gish to Siamese Dream to Melonchollie and the Infinite Sadness to Adore to Machina 1 & 2 to Mary Star of the ocean to TheFutureEmbrace) has been very natural.
Oh and lets not forget : Billy is the Smashing Pumpkins. The only other person who contributed creatively to the Pumpkins albums was James Iha, and if memory serves correctly he only wrote one song that featured on an album and 2 which he co-wrote with Billy (B-Sides dont count, which includes Pisces Iscariot).
Having said all that, he is making steps to reform the band, and I would love to see them live again.

I quite liked it myself, my fave tracks being A100 and The CameraEye.
Can't really say electronic rock is Billy's high point, but he did a nice job nonetheless
