 Re: Whats your favorite band
Now I would say Siouxsie & the Banshees because it is the most often playing on my computer
but then again, Sisters of Mercy is what really introduced me and attracted me to Goth music

 Re: Whats your favorite band
I have a top three list that's stayed more or less steady for a couple of years now:
* David Bowie * Sonata Arctica * Billy Joel (who is utterly pop and completely uncool to like and all his songs sound alike etc etc and I don't care he's still one of my favorites - so much so that I get pre-emptively defensive about it)
Not a Goth band among them, though there's a lot of Goth music that falls on my, "I like this, it's just not my favorite" list. In fact, there's a lot of other music in general that falls on that list.

 Re: Whats your favorite band
My favorite bands are 'Die Toten Hosen' and 'Rammstein'. But I need a lot of different music because I can't listen to the same music all the time. I think this two bands are great because they both have lots of different songs which all (ore most of them) have a meaning. And I love songs which have a meaning.

 Re: Whats your favorite band
I'm a bit of a musical stew. It depends what mood I'm in. I like the Beatles as much as I like Hank Williams, The Beach Boys, The Grateful Dead, Yes, The Guess Who, The Who, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, David Bowie, Anne Murray, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Byrds, Herman's Hermits, The Moody Blues, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Gowan, Marty Robins, Donovan, Love, Johnny Cash, April Wine, Blood Sweat & Tears, CCR, The Sranglers, The Carpenters, Cream, The Stampeders, Planxty, Stan Rogers, Pink Floyd.... Am I boring anyone yet? If not, I like Grieg, Vivaldi.... Okay, I'll stop

 Re: Whats your favorite band
I definitely love goth music, but my overall favorites are Green Day and Chicago (on that latter - no, not biased at all! ). Green Day was more of a recent installment for me (the last few years) - it just grew on me. Chicago, well, I grew up with them. I have four siblings that are between 14 and 21 years older than me, so I pretty much heard a lot of their music growing up. Including metal, which I didn't really get into so much though. Lorda, that is quite an interesting mix you have indeed! CCR is often underrated in my opinion. I know some people think they are GODS in music, I don't quite think that way, but I do love pretty much everything I've heard by them.

 Re: Whats your favorite band
I don't think it will ever be possible for me to list just one band as my all-time favorite, so I'll list a few of my absolute favorites (and some of their songs just for fun).
My Dying Bride - The guitars are simply beautiful and work in perfect unison with the emotions that Aaron conveys with his voice. The lyrics are often deep, dark, and passionate. I could say more, but I don't want to ramble too much. SONGS: For My Fallen Angel, The Dreadful Hours, Black Heart Romance, Pretty much the entire "Songs of Darkness, Words of Light" album, L'amour Detruit, pretty much the enitre "For Lies I Sire" album.
Tristania - One of my favorite things about this band is the fact that it has three vocalists, female, clean male, and growling vocals. I also like how they often allude to mythology and folklore in their lyrics. Not too sure about the new female vocalists though because I haven't really heard her yet. SONGS: Evenfall, My Lost Lenore, Aphelion, Opus Relinque, Heretique, Equilibrium, Mercyside, Fate, Sacrilege.
Bauhaus - Goth in its original form. Bauhaus fascinates me because they seemed to have incorporated aspects of nearly every aspect of Goth music culture. They have elegant piano pieces, grinding industrial beats, metallic guitar riffs, and a style that is their own. SONGS: Bela Lugosis Dead, Stigmata Martyr, Dark Entires, Nerves, Terror Couple Kill Colonel, Hair of the Dog, Passion of Lovers, The Man With the X-Ray Eyes, Mask, Satori, Silent Hedges (the first song I ever heard of theirs), All We Ever Wanted Was Everything, Exquisite Corpse, and Ziggy Stardust.
KMFDM - More upbeat than most of my music, and not as emotionally heavy. Some of their political points and philosophies are interesting to think on. There really is no other way to describe their music than the "Ultra Heavy Beat" and that's why I like it. SONGS: The entire "Angst" album, Last Things, Revenge, Bait & Switch, Davai, Being Boiled, Me & My Gun. EDIT: forgot a few - What Do You Know?, Godlike, Megalomaniac.
Skinny Puppy - Arguably the hardest music I own, but in a different sense than heavy metal. Dark and gritty, with samples from who-knows-what incorporated into the rhythm. The lyrical style is different from any of the other bands I listen to, and like KMFDM they make some interesting political points as well. SONGS: First Aid, Addiction, Second Tooth, Love in Vein, Mirror Saw, Inquisition, Riverz End, Pasturn, Morhpeus Laughing.

 Re: Whats your favorite band
My Favorite Band is now Omnia (thanks to the suggestion of Carpi of whom I cannot thank enough)! Oddly enough, they are also the first band that I loved listening to songs of which were sung in a different lanuage than my own. I steer clear of songs done in a language I cannot understand, but with Omnia I do not mind it in the least which again really is a first for me.

My Dying Bride is and will always be my favorite band.
Then, there's Opeth, Draconian, Gothica, Bloodbath, and many, many more.
