Post A note on religion.
I have noticed an uptick in the amount of topics being started here relating to religion and not politics. While both can be very polarizing and sensitive topics, I would like to remind everyone that the name of this section is Politics and Related.

In other words if your topic relates to religion and either it's impact on the state, or the state's control or imposition of religion, then it's a valid topic for here. Topics that relate only to the validity of a specific religion, or that are about how wrong people are for believing in a specific religion do not belong here. Not just in this section, but on the GOTH.NET forums.

GOTH.NET is an accepting place, we welcome people of all religions (and all across the political spectrum), but where political differences make people think the other is wrong or misinformed, religious differences can get very ugly (more atrocities in history have been done in the name of one religion or another than for any other purpose). And I will not have people spouting hate speech or trashing another's deep-held beliefs on these forums.

As mentioned in the Rules of Engagement thread, a long time ago the administrators established a 'Political Exile' group, which will explicitly stop members of that group from posting in this section. I have asked my administrators and moderators to start using this group more judiciously to evict people from this section who cannot control themselves.

For those who don't want to read or have a goldfish's memory, to sum up the above:
- This is not a religious forum, and topics that are solely related to that subject do not belong here.
- Moderators will start exiling people more frequently from this group if they cannot abide by (or did not read) the rules of engagement for this section (ignorance is not an excuse).
- If the purpose of your post is just to trash talk someone else, their religion or their political views, don't bother posting it or risk being thrown out of this section or the forums entirely.

I've been requested to add a new footnote here, due to some recent behavior.

GOTH.NET will also not tolerate nationalism on the forums. For those unaware of the difference, Patriotism is pride in and loyalty to your own nation. Nationalism is the belief your country is better than all others, and wishing to see your country advance at the expense of other nations. This relevant here because quite often people have the same zeal for their nation or origin as they do for their religion. And similarly some are of the opinion that anyone not of their own nation is a second-class being.

So again for those with goldfish memories:
- If the purpose of your post is merely to insult another nation and/or it's people, then it does not belong.
