What band can you absolutely, 100% not stand. Just hearing it makes your skin crawl. Post it here. Oh, and elaborate as to why.

Appropriately enough, Theatre of Hate. Goodness only knows why they get lumped in with goth bands; probably only because they were around in the early eighties, and nobody can remember them well enough to be able to tell exactly what they were.

Well, I heard them on John Peel many, many times, and I'll tell you what they were... Absolutely horrible. Poorly produced, boring, derivative, and Kirk Brandon's vocals make my skin crawl. They're a very, very poor wannabe Adam & The Ants.

Well, as for me, I can't stand Southern Death Cult, or any other band that has anything to do with Ian Astbury as the vocalist, for that matter. God, Astbury's voice annoys the heck out of me.

Edited to add Rudimentary Peni. In an other topic Wolfmammy had mentioned them, and I must agree with her notion: they are not a good band. I can't tolerate their music, the vocalist's voice grates my nerves, and their name is ridiculous. I fail to see why everyone and their mother is all crazy about them. (But maybe I'm just not 'punk' enough for this sort of, er, music...)

If i don't like it, then I don't listen to it. If I don't listen to it then I tend to forget about it easily enough.

Well now, is there really a difference between a band that you hate and a band that you think is overrated (since a lot of people use "overrated" as a euphemism for "hate")? Because if we put it that way,

Unoriginal, uninspiring, food for the posers "music taste". Walk by hottopic in the mall and you will see it everywhere. And they wonder why they get such a bad rep. Words cannot explain how much distaste these two bands bring to me. But like suggested earlier, if I don't think about them for a period of time then I won't even remember that they existed in the first place.

Ummm, now we're getting the claws out, I guess I'd have to agree with Carpi. I haven't heard anything, yet, by the Crotchshadows which has really overly impressed me. I keep trying to figure out who they remind me of, but I can never quite work it out.

I've heard SOME of their songs but nothing that really captures my interest to the point where I would go out of my way to listen to them. On that note, Winterborn and Insomnia are the only songs I care for to some degree.

This is a great idea for a thread . I am going to list the very song that flipped the hate switch on for me.

Skillet - reason: "Monster" - Annoying vocals. Cliché lyrics. Bad choice of musical ambassador for the band.

Brad Paisley - reason: "I'm Still A Guy" - "when you see a priceless friend's painting, I see a drunk naked girl". Noticing a naked woman in a painting doesn't bother me at all, most guys will probably notice that first anyway. My problem is with the adjective "drunk". Perhaps the only time he's ever seen a naked woman is after he's gotten her drunk? The scenarios go on and on, I could rant forever about this.

Three Days Grace - reason: "Break" - "at night I feel like a vampire". Are you serious? I can't express how stupid that sounds on the radio.

Nickelback - all it took was one listen.

Toby Keith - reason: "Big Dog Daddy" - This is probably the song I hate the most in the entire world. Being a masochist I attempted to listen to the song all the way through one time, couldn't make it one minute in without my ears wanting to bleed.

Any Disney made "boy band" as well as tweener pop..please Al Qaida nuke Disney! So that covers a lot

I'm not going to beat a dead horse, because everyone is already familiar with the Crockshadows and how they represent everything wrong with the American goth scene.

In general, I hate any and that represents the commercial rock/radio friendly side of the goth scene.
Just in general, I'm not impressed by flashy photo shoots, club hits, or lavish production values, because without substance, all that goes to waste. I've always favored the underground, obscure, darker, more dangerous and artistic side of music, and that goes for every genre.

And for any commercial rock/mainstream/nu-metal (Nickelkack, Shitknot, blah blah blah), that should really go without saying.
