Even in all of the thousands of pictures I've seen of corseted women over the years none have ever managed that particular feat. I saw it IRL the weekend before last. I wish I hadn't. The lady in question was not carrying it with such grace, if you catch my meaning. As cool as it is to see the kids all dressed up it's a hell of a lot cooler to see the veterans out and showing them how it's done. I must go to this some year. Taping theem up there rarely works! Yes, I, too am enjoying the age variety in the photos, Minnie. Proof that there is no age limit on being a Goth! ^_^

I really like the Fallout vibe he's got going.

I really do have to get myself to Whitby sometime, be it inside or outside of WGW!
I love the photos too, Minnie... please thank your partner for taking them (and thanks to you for posting them here ((hugs)) ).

I'm gratified that the photos have brought some pleasure. I will, however, just say that much as I like them, and much as they serve as a pleasant reminder, I have to say they only convey a part of what it felt like to be there. You know, I think most of us are used to the idea that we're the only goth in our "Village", and we mentally accept, and come to embrace, that. However, it actually is nice - if only for a little while - to be somewhere where, while not in the majority, you're part of a very visible, and sizeable minority; to remember that you're actually not alone. Here's a few more pictures... The weird and the wonderful. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1201/5137897182_bd7b7317eb.jpghttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4057/5137899286_169324567e.jpghttp://farm2.static.flickr.com/1062/5137900460_f03d2d4d65.jpghttp://farm2.static.flickr.com/1065/5137901326_dd22cf344a.jpg

And, "she" really does moan - "she" keeps up a never-ending stream of minor, pointless complaints!

I like the Moaning Lisa too! *Me* like that kind of place, as many of members here I would want to go there! BTW; how to jacket the guy in the left in this photo is called? It's the kind of things I like with steampunk.

One thing I love about the goth subculture is the lack of ageism one finds elsewhere. Where I live, at least, it seems people are mocked often just because they're "old". We watched a film in one of my classes in which a few older ladies who I thought were just lovely were being interviewed. They were quite passionate and powerfully opinionated, much like other people featured in the film, but when the women were talking my fellow students erupted in giggles, which they certainly hadn't done when younger people spoke. I like it that we can value age as well as youth, and that such respect for Elder Goths (and usually, I find, elderly people in general) can be found in younger goths such as myself.
