Post Commodore 64 on the outside, new on the inside
Computer with the outside of a Commodore 64 and the guts of a modern computer.

I remember copying the "Dancing Mouse" animation program out of the manual for that thing back in the early 1980's [1]. The "mouse" would dance jerkily to the middle of the screen, stopped by a "SnError" message.

[1]no comments on my age! :P

It's old enough for "retro" but not for "steampunk" :?

Oh wow!
I remember fondly hours spent typing out lines of code to make the screen/cursor flash or to play some simple numbers game.
I'm actually seriously interested in this, I'll see what the price is when it's released on this side of the Atlantic.

...I suppose hoping it comes with a cassette deck is just wishful thinking

You mean Commodore 64s are old-fashioned?

What do you think I'm writing on at this very moment?

I certainly do. It's my philosophy - I'm going to extend it to myself and live forever.
