Reading the 'songs at your funeral' thread reminded me of this one.

Black Aria ~ Danzig

Glenn should not be writing electronic classical music! I think the Aria albums are probably the worst albums Danzig has made in his career. Yes, I would even put Blackacidevil above them and I hold a very low opinion of that one, too.

Much of Billy Corgan's solo work. He just doesn't quite have he same quality when he doesn't have the rest of the Pumpkins with him.

We felt betrayed when we heard Love Cats and Robert Smith mentioned, that he didn't had the courage to play this song on a Gig in Bochum mid of the eighties, when he saw ten thousand people dressed in black and not one coloured peace of cloth.

Oh my God yes!
I hate Japanese Whispers, and I know people who say it's their faveourite Cure album, I just don't get it

Is that tantamount to someone saying that Les Fleur du Mal is their favorite Sopor album?

If we're to go into the metal scene, I think the majority of metal bands are good for about 3 albums before they start sucking, especially if it's black, death, or thrash metal pioneers we're talking about:

Mayhem(started sucking after Wolf's Lair Abyss)
Emperor(started sucking after Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk)
Dimmu Borgir(sucked a fat kock after Enthrone Darkness Triumphant)
Morbid Angel(sucked after either Covenant or Domination, personally I didn't mind Domination, though it was a far stretch into commercialism from the three before)
Megadeth(sucked after the 80s were over)
Metallica(sucked after Cliff was killed. ....and Justice for All had a slew of great songs, also ruined by horrible bassless production)

I'm probably going to get clothelined for saying this, but I actually liked Load.

While this simply gets entirely into matters of taste, I have to disagree with a lot of that. With Mayhem, I am pick and choose. I enjoyed Deathcrush, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Wolf's Lair Abyss and Grand Declaration, but nothing after. Emperor's final two albums were very different from the earlier material but very strong nonetheless, much like Ihsahn's 3 'solo' albums. With Dimmu, Spiritual and Godless were mix and match for me, each having songs I hate and songs I love. Puritanical was huge and excellent, but they really petered out for me after that. Morbid Angel hasn't put out a shit album until this year. The Tucker era material is almost a spiritual experience for me (most especially Formulas Fatal To The Flesh :xx:). Domination tends to be the least liked of the bunch, but I don't mind it at all. It's this new abortion of an album that really suffers. That said, I don't see any commercialism to them whatsoever, especially not from one album over another. (Though since rejoining, Vincent sounds like a damn salesman.) On Megadeth and Metallica, I mostly agree with you. Countdown To Extinction and Youthanasia are awesome. Everything since is a giant turd. It's pretty clear that James and Cliff were the creative strong points to Metallica, and without Cliff to balance James, it all went downhill sharply.

I'll add that Hate Eternal just released their 4th album and it's easily the best yet.

Thornography, By Cradle of Filth...
too slow... clean...weak... overall, it seemed like a sellout to the pretentious masses; an album, nearly radio friendly...
I understand that, this does not wholy constitute a "Sell out", however; it DOES irritate me...

Either Type O's "Everyone I Love Is Dead" or [warning: non-Goth song] Dennis De Laat's "The Sound of Violence" have been getting trapped in my noggin lately.

I may be clothes lined AND axebomebed, but I actually liked everything after the Black Album except At. Anger (I'll give you guys that one, St. Anger was a disapointment)

As for Megadeth, I liked everything they did post 80's except for parts of The World Needs A Hero, I only liked about half the album (and I'll even admit to liking Risk *gasp*.)

Like I said before, when it comes Metallica, even Megadeth, I'm the odd one out in many circles. I'm proud of it too

I can probably find a few more things to top to that..........I like country, and have plenty of it. Now you see how sad I can be

Now.....I'll patiently await the rocks and various vegtables to be strewn at me as I find something to listen to.

Oh, and the Blondie album No Exit is one I can't stand, they were trying way too hard on that one, and I normally like them too.

Nah, I'm just fuckin' with you. I don't want to have to take heat for all of the bad hair metal I really like... :P
