Have you ever felt a song with your heart?
Has there ever been a song that touched your heart? A song that you could literally feel the emotion of? Not just the lyrics, but the entire performance of the song (recorded, live, whatever)? If you have (or haven't) post what that song is, what emotion you feel from it, and why you like said song. I have a few but I'll only post one to start off: Florence and the Machine--"Cosmic Love" I don't know how to describe the emotion in this song other than "heavy", even though that doesn't make any sense.

For me, it's Voltaire - Feathery Wings

There are so many for me, the one I feel the most (the one I relate to the most) is Lovesong - The Cure. I can feel the pain that was put into those lyrics, I've definitely been there before, and listening to the song brings back those painful, dark memories all over again.

Re: Have you ever felt a song with your heart?
I think that's a defining factor in if I like a song at all; if I feel moved by it in some way. There are a lot of "non-gothic" answers I could give to this one, but I'm going to stay on topic: Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" and "Questions" by Shoot the Doctor

A lot of songs....
If I can't "feel" music, it's just air pollution, which is why I never watch TV or listen to radio....
Sopor Aeternus, Deine Lakaien, Dead Can Dance, and Diary of Dreams have made plenty of heart-wrenchers, but currently I've been listening to a lot of neofolk, and In Gowan Ring has been providing me with my fix of tears lately....

Another one for me is
Within Temptation - Stairway To The Skies (The lyrics are so SAD. But with those symphonic instuments, it's almost TEAR-WORTHY.)
and another one is
Daniel Bedingfield - Honest Questions
(*gasp* It's not Goth! I know it's not but they both almost made me cry. Especially the second one.)

^^Hey, the songs don't have to be goth. That's why I posted it in the general music section.
Oh and another one that hits me every time is "Bloodflowers" by the Cure. Ha, I actually can't listen to it anymore because I almost cry everytime I do.

I'll just throw in a quick list off the top of my head, but I connect (/feel) on some level to all the music I listen to, otherwise...I wouldn't listen to it. David Bowie - Wild is the Wind (I know it's a cover, but I think it's better than the original) David Bowie - All The MadmenThe Smashing Pumpkins - CrestfallenThe Smashing Pumpkins - EyeThe Cure - Where the birds always singJoy Division - The EternalBauhaus - CrowdsPJ Harvey - C'mon BillyLamb - GoreckiMassive Attack - ProtectionEverything But The Girl - Single

Re: Have you ever felt a song with your heart?
Some that have gotten to me.
Under Pressure- Bowie and Queen Human- The Killers Absolution- Gary Numan Dead Heaven-Gary Numan The Skeletal Garden-Sopor Aeternus Accidental Death-Rilo Kiley A Better Son/Daughter- Rilo Kiley Hovering Sombrero- TMBG- I know, sounds crazy since it's not a very emotional song.
That's an awfully skewed list, since I'm trying to remember off the top of my head.

El Condor Pasa -may not be gothic, but personally I find it just heartbreaking. Same goes for some Irish music. This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltViIC4gTQ4. That's what I call beautiful.

Not really gothic, but "Carmilla" by TDV and "Rule the World" by Kamelot are such songs. The former reminds me of a girl I loved once and the latter gives me so much strength and support in hard times that I really feel it with my heart.

In that case, others would be:
"Big In Japan" - Alphaville "Walk Away Renee" - The Left Banke
