Awful clothing, huh?
My army green babydoll t-shirt that says "CAT LADY PRIDE!!" and is covered in cats and a creepy lady with nasty hair pumping her fist in the air. I love it!

Re: Your favorite 'awful' piece of clothing
I've got a Hawaiian shirt, but it's pretty subtle (mostly white with a blue hibiscus design at the bottom half), and the main reason I own it was so that I could have something easy-on/easy-off after I had surgery a few years ago. I also have this and my friends at the Mod and Ska nights can't decide if it's amongst the most horrible or most wonderful army surplus parkas they've ever seen. I took it as a compliment when a friend said it was up there with the Morrissey holiday sweater she has (I kind of want one, myself, but can't afford it with the current exchange rate).

I do, especially when i'm going to Petsmart or to take the beasties to the vet. It looks better when I have my little black and white manx in his harness and riding around on my shoulders or hanging out in my purse.

Re: Your favorite 'awful' piece of clothing
My surprisingly comfortable hair dying T-shirt. I wear it only when I'm dying my hair, it has a tonne of different coloured stains on it from where dye had fallen on it and not come out properly in the wash. It's so comfortable though!

Re: Your favorite 'awful' piece of clothing
According to my husband the black sweater I throw over everything when I am cold is the worst. It is black! with long sleeves and big awkward buttons. It does look rather ratty at this point. I think the worst would be the old hoodies I used to wear in high school. I still have them One is a rust orange with a black tribal tiger down one side and the other is a plum purple with a skull and some grey swirls and says: "Of course I am out of my mind, it's dark and scary in there!" They are also stupidly large on my and turn me into a walking blob. *chuckles* Since I have always been "well-endowed" being a marshmallow was camouflage in high school. I look pretty bad on any day I work though. I run a boarding stable with a friend and I don't have enough lovely goth clothes to risk them to farm work. I do change once I get home though!

Mine is a silver velour tracksuit with "sexy" written on the rear of the bottoms. SO chavette (ugh), but so damn comfortable.

I have a long baby blue skirt that I never get around to dying (its been on my to-do list for about two years now though ) and I have this really faded woodstock shirt. Every time I go to the store I walways tell myself to by black dye but I forget then when im on my way home I remember but Im just too lazy to go back (plus I don't want to waste gas)

A bright red Adidas track suit. I still wear it sometimes around the house or when I'm not going anywhere worth getting fancied up. it's soooo comfortable and pretty warm.

Re: Your favorite 'awful' piece of clothing
Really, my main mistake was not caring enough about fashion. I don't value dressing nice and matching my clothes like I do now. I'll say that even for goth clothing I don't break fashion rules. I will never wear all of one color, I wont wear all black, I'll break it up with white dress shirts and ties that match. I believe, even with the most abstract of dress styles lie rules that should not be broken. A nice color scheme that catches people's attention is just worth so much.
Another example is vibrant colors. I wont wear a vibrant red tie anywhere except formal events. A general rule is that the tie should be darker than the shirt.(A lot of the time) White is a great neutral color that goes with everything, especially black. A fine dark red goes great for such casual occasions, and it looks great without saying "Hey look at me!" I also have much appreciation for the skinny tie for casual events and for clubbing and on your nights out.
In conclusion, breaking fashion rules is fun and in some cases I recommend it. I want to look good though.
