I also know a Cymoril (from a fantasy novel ) and a girl named Shannara (from the Shannara books). Cymoril . . . I picture a woodland-based sorceress that lives by a river. Or at least, that's my opinion of that name before I used Google. And after googling... you see why I reacted as I did.

There's also Zowie Bowie, who for some unknown reason later changed his name to Duncan Jones.
Rockstars & naming kids, just seems to be a terrible combination.

Rockstars & naming kids, just seems to be a terrible combination. If I ever become a rock star, I'm naming my kid something normal like "Jim" or "Avery".

AB, If you're going to use my name, make sure your child understands the Chaldean calculation meaning of "Avery".

And yes, I admit, I hijacked the name from you, because I think the name is rather lovely. It's also the name of one of my favorite actors.

 Re: Unusual names: any stories?
Just wanted to add I stumbled on a "Jerkyis". Maybe that's a common name in another language and I'm ignorant, I don't know. It seems odd and made-up to me.

Avery, using Chaldean calculation, adds up to 15, also known in this system as The Devil's Number. We have a certain ambitiously ruthless side to us.
