 Forums Upgrade and other stuff
As you may have noticed, there have been some issues recently with GOTH.NET and the forums. I have tried to address these today.
To this end, I upgraded parts of the operating system, tweaked some settings, and upgraded the forums software. So if you notice some things screwy on the forums (pages not working, or something of the like), please post a reply here and I'll try and track down the cause.
As much information as possible (including any errors you see, and the time/date of when it occurred) will be helpful in me trying to track down anything in log files or the like to find the root cause of the problems.

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
When I attempt to approve a posting for a new member, or send a PM, I'm continually getting: "The website cannot display the page." Feb. 22nd, 7am ET.

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
I had problems posting, just a few minutes ago (6.08 CET on Feb 22). First, I couldn't connect and got an error screen, next attempt (after hitting the back button of my browser, my post was still intact in the 'post a reply' screen) I got nothing (at least: not visible), third time I got a double post (see T&S thread).
I recently had some problems with my ISP/internet connection, but so far today I have had no problems with any other webpages. Just thought I should mention this as well.
Good luck with solving everything, and many thanks for the efforts!

I am trying to approve posts by new users and keep getting "The website encountered an error while retrieving mcp.php?i=queue. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly." 10:45am, 2/22/12 Also, the Moderator Control Panel is timing out when I try to access it. ~spidey

Sounds like what I was getting last night. So far in the last few minutes things seem ok but I might just be lucky dunno?

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
Glad to see the forums back up again, but Mods and Admins still seem to be unable to approve postings of new members. Getting the following message: "The website cannot display the page. Most likely causes: The website is under maintenance. The website has a programming error." Feb. 23rd, 9:12am ET.

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
Just got a "server error" when trying to post a reply in the General Discussion Forum (What Are you Doing Now? thread at 1:11pm CST). EDIT: It seems the post went through, though...odd? EDIT 2: Just got the same thing when posting in the "What Are You Listening to Currently?" thread. Here's the exact text from the error page: "Server Error. The website encountered an error while retrieving posting.php?mode=reply&f=28&t=13981. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly."

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
I dont get an eeror message, just a blank screen when I hit <submit> to any poston any thread. Also, <PM> messaging has the same issue. In both cases the message is posted. If I hit <F5> for a refresh, then it double posts.

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
PreZ, in addition to problems noted previously, you might want to check the forum registration feature. It appears that nobody (including the usual mess of spammers) has registered since Tuesday (7:39am), which is very unusual for the board. I'm thinking that maybe new people aren't able to register an account? Or are we getting new registrants that just aren't showing up on the members list?

Things seem to be working again (at least, the things that I had problems with). Thanks, PreZ!

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
Yeah, log files showed up errors that happened during the automatic merge (ie. what the forums does for upgrading itself).

Re: Forums Upgrade and other stuff
I am really happy that the forum's main index page now shows when there have been new unread postings in the music section.
