Alice, sending all my good wishes that you will find an answer. YAY I just found out that the article I submitted to a journal a few weeks ago was accepted for publication!

Yes, I'd like to see the dress Wow! And I just got word that another article with my name on it (well, second author on this one) has been accepted for publication! Oh my. There's a third article where I'm one of the authors that's still under review by another journal.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
I applied to work at Home Depot yesterday. Now, I really wished that I had read about my potential employer on ratemyemployer.ca because I saw a myriad of bad reviews of them. The "pre-screening" assessment was a bit *invasive* as well. What I mean by that is, some of the questions were more geared towards asking if you're willing to lick boots and asshole more than if you actually have the skills necessary for the job. I chose for those answers, "neither" or I only slightly lied and said, "Yes, I agree." I believe in making a portion of sacrifice for work and the daily upkeep of such things, but some companies really are arseholes. I know the difference between ass-kissing and respect at work. I also know (from living in bigger areas) what it takes to actually get the job done and what's just small town bullshit I even tried to go back and *re-work* my answers in order to potentially spare me of seeing first-hand the BS that was going on in the reviews I read online.

AAAARAAAGH!HHH!H!H!!!!!! Had THIS big argument with a friend of mine. It seems like people have a big conspiracy to boycott me these days for no apparent reason. Time to change the people around me, much?

Alice: I know I am still kinda like the newbie here (well, in my mind at least, despite being registered here for a year and not really contributing much) and we haven't really talked to each other, but I want to say sorry to hear about that. I can't begin to imagine how that could be like. Hopefully, you can find out where he is, maybe find some peace in it.

^^ Not to mention eye exam season. I've apparently entered the land of bifocals. Yay. *sarcasm*

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Oh joy. :/ That doesn't sound fun.
I haven't needed to have my eyes checked in a while but I probably should sometime next year before I start driving again.

 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
I'm having a bad day. I couldn't sleep last night, which was really my own fault. I had a headache, and I fell asleep and ended up waking up again at six in the evening. Oh well. Then I got a text from my (really really good) friend that he'd much rather spend a whole week with me than just two days. So I was a bit dissapointed, but I figured that it will be worth waiting another week. It's not too long ago that I wrote about how I broke up with my ex. While we aren't exactly best friends, we get along okay. I don't have a single regret about breaking up with him. It wasn't working out. I woke up an hour ago after 4 hours of sleep, but only because my ex came into my bedroom to ask why I hadn't gone out yet. And I explained to him that my friend said that we should wait a bit, so we could spend more time together. Okay, he said. He'd prefer I'd go, but it was okay.
When I was walking down to the market after cigs, I asked him what his plan for the day is. Then he got angry and said that it was his plan to take his girlfriend home, but he had tried to keep it a secret, because he wouldn't hurt me. But I wouldn't have a problem, if he, you know, had said something. What irritates me is that he has to keep it a secret. It's not like I don't know about her. What would he have done if I had come home early tomorrow? How would he explain that to her? "Oh, that's my ex. Yeah, I had hoped she wouldn't come home for at least another day or two, this is actually her bed. Sorry."
It's not that I'm angry, or even particularly sad. I just don't see the point in this. So right now I'm hoping that my friend finds an apartment soon. It's our plan to move in together, since we get along great and rent is cheaper when you're two, but I know that we'll probably have to wait a month or so before he can move. As much as I think being friends with an ex is a noble concept, it's not going to happen if he keeps doing stuff like this.
