Everyone: What's your favorite holiday, and why? Also, what do you do to celebrate this holiday?

My favorite holiday is Halloween by far. Because I've always liked dressing up in costumes, and something about the creppy darkness of it all intrigues me. Hm, either that or all the winter holidays/winter solstice. Simply because I love winter all around.

My favorite holiday is my birthday. It's not an official holiday, of course, but I make it a holiday -- for me -- when it rolls around each year.

What do I do to celebrate my favorite holiday? Whatever self-indulgence comes to mind!

Mine is the same, which I call Samhain. Not because it is for dressing up and all of that, but because that is the one night of the year when the vial between the living and the dead (or the vial between universes, worlds, etc..) is at its thinnest.

I also love the winter solstice, not because of winter, but because Yule (December 21st) is the longest night of the year.

It's not?! Darn, I was almost certain Nephele's birthday was on calenders all over North America...

Actually, my mom calls her birthday a "national holiday" and because I was raised like that, I go around telling my friends that their birthday's are national holidays.

@ midi, you mean veil, right? Because I find myself hard pressed to describe a divider as a vial.

When I become Queen of the World, it will be... And then there will be free ice cream for everyone on that day! Wheeeee!

Nephele, we could make it an official holiday, another day off is never a bad idea. We just have to celebrate it for years and years, generation after generation and it will be accepted.

M yfav holiday, hmmmm ,being christian it should be some christian holiday, but I seriously dislike the way religious holidays are celebrated by people who speak against the religion, so I've gone off liking holidays like that. I quite like our 'birthday of the country' it's a normal day, though a day off and fireworks in the evening. Nice, simple. You can stay up late as it's during summer holiday ,it's warm so you can go outside. Yeh, I like it

Favorite Manga? Hmmm. Probably Death Note, Soul Eater, or Vampire Knight.
Favorite Anime? DEATH NOTE!! DEATH NOTE FOR THE WIN!! Although I also like Durarara, Angel Beats, Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater, Pokemon(but the old episodes with Misty in them), Black Butler,when I was little I used to watch Do Re Mi, and pretty much any Miyazaki movie. Oh yeah, I also loved the Ghost In The Shell film and I'm starting to get into Darker Than Black. So yeah.

Inspired by the picture thread: What's your favorite smell? How sensitive are you to smells in general?

I like the smell of spices and musks, best. Basically anything I tend to associate with sexuality, which includes leather. There was a Febreeze scented oil plug-in thinger called "Moroccan Bazaar" that has since been discontinued; it reminded me of this, er... "art film" (yeah, that's it "art film") set and filmed in Marakesh, so when I found a bunch of it as dead-stock at Big Lots, I pretty much bought as much as I could afford.

Hahahaha! Very nice! I love Death Note too! It is very interesting! And a nice selection of anime/manga too! I'm glad to see an anime/manga enthusiast! Anime FTW!!
