Owls are beautiful animals. I remember growing up the animal I felt connected to was the Eagle. I find it funny that the eagle also happens to be the same animal that my daughter connects to. When we go to the zoo and we pass the Hawk Eagle, it always starts to fly around and talk and once tried to grab her through the cage.

My symbol is the cross, a fairly common one but very special to my heart nonetheless; not only for religious reasons but also because I can relate to pain and suffering; both physical and emotional.

My "symbol" would be a friendly stray mutt. That's just something I can relate to.

Stars. They shine brightly for a while but all will eventually fall, fade out, or collapse in on themselves and suck in everything around them.

A fox, I leave my lair and move to another when things get to tuff or to hard to clear up. Most of my life have been moving and running, not the past three years but earlier...and whould actually prefere to move again...

But I think I'm transforming more into a bear, standing my ground tired of fleeing from the enemys and ready to fight back to protect family and home, as I have more in my life today than just myself.

I always see in my minds eye a black dragonfly.

My symbol is a Top Hat; To represent the intellectual and austere, as well as the dramatic and clever. An ever-shifting facet upon the many different faces of life depending upon the play it must appear in.

My personal symbol is personal, so I won't post about it in depth here. In the practice of witchcraft, symbols have power, so I don't go waving the private ones around where anyone can see it and mess with it.

The more public symbols I use:

The pentacle (or pentagram, when it is drawn or written) is the religious symbol I identify with the most. It has several meanings on different levels, the most commonly known ones being the elements, and the (hu)man as microcosm.

What I guess you could call my primary power animal is the Cat, because Cat is private, wise, intuitive, lucky, and also a subtle trickster.

My plant spirit symbol is the bramble bush, or wild blackberry. They are wild, they sprawl all over and are untidy. When taken superficially they are unwelcome weeds with chotic canes that take root wherever they touch the ground and bear unpleasant thorns. But with deeper understanding, brambles are nuturing allies, they provide medicine and food, shelter and camoflage. Their wisdom is mistaken for odd and unconventional, but is actually so present, obvious and plain it is almost always completely overlooked.

The fleur de lis.

In Three Musketeers they say it was a symbol placed on those who were condemned to death. I have not found evidence to substantiate that but it sticks with me. I am persecuted currently for a crime I did not commit (nothing too serious but it has ruined my reputation). So I wear it as a badge of honor, kind of how Hester Prynn wore the biggest gaudiest in-your-face "A" she could. I wear my fleur de lis necklace as one who feels that I'm condemned in the eyes of others but it's also a symbol of royalty and miliatry victory, so take that you bastards! :-)
