Post Poem: Drip
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

It starts out as a thought
A faucet slowly leaking
Dripping out poisonous lies
For water, your dying mind has sought
Yet when one thirsts, even poison is tempting
It laps up the poison as if it gives life

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

It then evolves into a desire
A rainstorm of false emotions
Your mind sticks out its tongue, hoping for a drip
When the drop enters the mind, it burns like fire
It begins to consume you, but you don't care
Your mind is so thirsty that you soak it all up

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

Next, it becomes a mistake
Blood dripping off limp fingertips
Your mind is drunk from the substance it consumed
It wanted more of that rain, that desire, no matter the stake
So great the desire, it crossed the line between mind and body
It's too late to take back the action you have wrought

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

It ends as a regret
A tear dripping from an eye
It slowly falls, like your life, to the ground
You try to catch it, but you know its useless even with a net
It hits the ground and disappears
Who knew one little drip would end like this?

Drip.
Drip..
Drip...

You already know what I'm going to say. I love it! The repetition of the word "drip" reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Bells", so very well done.

Thanks :) I know this one doesn't really have a complex rhyming scheme, in fact it doesn't really have one, but I can't really control it. The words just come out, I don't determine the form :P

You did have a "constrained free verse" vibe if you will. You stuck to a AXXAXX patteren, so it's not really pure free verse, but it's close.
