Anyone know the link between Amazon.com and Alexa now?
Didn't Alexa used to collect peoples' information in a rather dubious manner?

I found this article rather disturbing.. it's dated January 2000 too! So Amazon.com and Alexa have had a relationship for quite a while now!

Because the 'holiday season' (aka. insert celebration of choice here) is coming up I figured I'd post in this thread again to whore the link for you all to use for your gift buying :)

PreZ, whore away. Just get someone's permission first - if you have to ask I'd have to shout at ya.

He owns the domain, who on earth would he have to ask permission from?

Oh my goodness. I really wish that I had seen this sooner! I ordered seven DVDs from there about a month ago. Now I feel really bad and all.. um um um, yeah. I will definately use this link next time I purchase something from there.

Hey I don't know if this will have any effect on the link, but I thought I'd post it just in case. When you click on the link it takes you to:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec....4753224 -- which is the homepage for amazon.co.uk

And if you use internet explorer and have selected 'add to favourites' I think you're bookmarking the homepage I wrote in above without the redircting obidos thing (technical I know ;)) and therefore goth.net won't get the rewards. So if you click on 'stop' almost immediately after clicking the link on the posts here you will still have the 'http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/redirect-home/gothnet-21' url in your internet browser. Then click 'add to favourites' and there you have it. I'm not sure if this is actually a problem but better to be safe then sorry eh? ;) I'm guessing it will be the same for amazon.com too.

EDIT: I've just noticed that you can also do it another way (if you already have an amazon.co.uk link that is) just go to favourites, highlight the link, and then right click and select properties. Then in the box that says 'URL:' type in the new link. And if everyone already knows this then I guess my post is pretty much redundant but oh well :p

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/gothnet-20

That's the one for amazom.com, with 20 rather than 21.

Remember when I said you shouldn't post nonsense just to increase your post count? This is a perfect example of that.

Not only is the thread a year old -- and therefore, here for informational purposes more than discussion -- but you didn't really contribute anything. We don't need a headcount of who is supporting GN through Amazon, who has a credit card or not, etc.
