Well, just as long as you don't come here illegally by boat I think you should be alright ;).

Maybe you could try get a job first with what you know from your degree and then focus on the band later.

Hope this helps mate.

Hmmm, work on getting a visa first - a working visa, then find the job. Then you can get the company you are working for to sponsor you for longer residency.

Immigrating from Venezeula shouldn't be much harder than immigrating from other parts of the world - but like Frogman said - so long as it's done legally!!! :D

If you want to be on the news you could always start swimming or hop on the next dingy bound for these parts.
I kid, as long as it's legal it should be fine.
getting found? gigging is your best friend (unless you want to go out on whim and enter something like the triple J unearthed competition.)

Actually, isn't there some kind of show that plays stuff by new tallent on the ABC or something? It might just be for student film-makers though...

Getting known as a band in Australia...I've done a heap of music industry courses (should have a diploma at end of year) and gone to confrences and the like "and they all sing the same refrain" go for out of Australia because there's not a large enough population.

However publicity stunts can work rather well. And all publicity is good publicity.

i am agreeing with Vialick. Australia is not a wise choise for a band of the Industrial genre. that is not to say it can't be done tho, but i think your chances here would be equal to being in Venezuela, maybe worse at least you are close to the U.S.A, and it has LOTS of people. Australia is an island, one cannot drive to any other country from here and people in boats arent so popular at present. use the force.

Hey Vialick and Werplonium

You do realise that the last post in this thread was in October (3 months ago) and that the original poster only ever posted 14 times the last being the same day this thread was started?
