Re: A Dark Music Dedication
Thank you all for the kind words on this poem. I've always been very critical of this one.
Nephele wrote:
Very cleverly done! I like your ABCADB rhyme scheme. Is there a reason why your 5th stanza broke from the pattern, though?
-- Nephele
No other reason than extremely ill planning on my part and an unease to change my wording....
And this is a very old version of the poem. Here is a newer version. Not sure which I like better. Goth Points to any and all who gets all the references? (not that there hard.)
Newer Version:
Is The Cure A Forest within me?
Will Bauhaus make the White Go Away?
Will this Violent World end
In a dramatic Theatre of Tragedy
Or can a Joy Division Silence the soul
That My Lost Lenore tainted with Shadowplay?
Inkubus Sukkubus your Enchantment takes us to Hel
For you know We Belong With The Dead
Due to the Alien Sex Fiend
That from the 45 Graves came and fell
I now know The Sleeper controls
The Jabberwocky in my head
Oh Christian Death! Hear this Romeo’s Distress
No-One is There as I become a Fatal Tragedy
For Within Temptation,
Our Solemn Hour, Alone, is Duress
While Voltaire leads us to a Graveyard Picnic
Held on the black flowers of the Sea
Your Best Nightmare rises with Bloody Tears
Upon the Hallowed Hills within London After Midnight
As the Killing Joke guards their Primitive Hate
For those Buried Alive in Persephone’s fears
While a Chord Of Souls take us to
the Fields Of The Nephilim- our fate
So lead me to Disintegration with Type O Negative
Bloody Kisses from Dusk Till Dawn
While the Strange Kind Of Love metal lord of His Infernal Majesty
Hiding in Endless Dark with a Vampire Heart
As The 69 Eyes watch as the Devils looks on
Waiting for Anesthesia to kick in so Love Can Tare Us Apart
And while Siouxsie Sioux leaves me Spellbound with her Lies
I will take 12 Black Rainbows Straight to the Light
Where Dead Souls and Lost Boys go
When the Stargazer leaves Cities in Dust and decides that Everything Dies
Where we find that all Dead Can Dance as we Paint It Black
And Ever Dream of the Never Land called Night.
