Hi, Wiccans. I was wondering if any of you belong to a specific group of Wiccans or are solitary practitioners. What are the large Wiccan groups in the world? I've been having trouble finding info about this. Thank you.

There are none that I know of in my area...My friend wanted to start a little group but never got around to it. If you're looking for other Wiccans in your area, do a google search for Wicca sites or communities.

I've discovered that two of my friends are Wiccans and since we all learned this we've formed a small coven of 3.

If you search on Wicca or Witchcraft or Pagan within the forums, you'll find the topic has been brought up before. As has been said, do a google search to find sites for networking among Wiccans. The Witches' Voice is a good place to start.
Moving to General Discussion, as it's not really a topic about being Gothic.

im in a town where, and im guessing, has quite a number of witches. Why do i say im guessing? Because MANY of the witches out there are not revealing to the world they are what they are.
If there is an occult store in your town, or in a town near your town, thats also a good place to start, but witchVox (the above mentioned link) is a better place to start for some people.
good luck.

It also depends if you want specifically wiccans or just witches in general.

Many witches are in fact solitary these days, there aren't that many set covens any more, as they don't want to deal with the political/power struggles that eventuate.
Now, I have a question for you GothBaby, why is it so hard to use the search feature?

Before your newfound ability to post in the forums gets out of hand, may I be the first to refer you to this post which is quickly starting to apply to you. Read that post. Read that post or tree gnomes will start tapping on the glass of the window behind you.

Seconded.
There are more paths than just that of Wiccans. Many people affiliate with some pagan/neo-pagan group of one kind or another which isn't necessarily a Wiccan group. Wicca seems to have become a catch-all phrase even though it doesn't encompass all witchcraft/pagan related paths.

What astounds me is not that there is a thread about Wicca on the general discussion board, but moreso, that there are so many people here who know what it is!
Dark Gothic + Tree Hugging. *shivers* at the thought.
I can hear the resounding teeny bopper call, "I'm so Goth I just bought Konstantinos's new gothic grimoire at Barns and Nobles!"
Indigo signing off, praising atheism, even though she is not atheist.

Where were you when they handed out the "to be a proper goth, one must either be atheist or engage in an alternate religion like wicca" flyers?
Seriously, there's a large contingent of people into Wicca/witchcraft/various pagan paths that are goths. I'm surprised you haven't ever noticed this.
I'd also be loathe to call Wicca tree hugging and use that as the reason why it's surprising that many goths are into it... it doesn't surprise me in the least, especially not with the large contingent of vegans and vegetarians and animal activists that the goth (and punk) scenes have.

Its been awile since I went to any clubs. No, I never did notice however. Most people at the clubs I went to were either Christian or atheist. If they did involve themselves in an alternate religion it was usually medieval: Like Ceremonial Magic or Thelema.
The only people I ever remember being Wiccan were 16 and believed Marilyn Manson was a God.
But that was a good four years ago, so maybe things have changed since then.

!!!!! marilyn manson? wicca? i can't those two could be considered linked!
Anyway, gothbaby, to answer your question, i count myself as a solitary parctitioner, though i am part of a few internet "covens" where i find spells and information. i found the most useful ones in yahoo groups.

I am a solitary and it's staying that way. I have no desire to form or join a coven. I work better alone *alexa*
