Much to many people's despair, I'm a very busy boy. Apart from my full-time
paying job, I am also often involved in a variety of side-projects (which
more often than not are free). Heres a brief list of some of the projects
I am currently involved in:
- Magick IRC Services
is a project to bring some measure of control to an IRC (RFC 1459)
network by allowing users to register their nicknames, channels,
send memos to others, and allowing various administrative functions.
I am currently working as the project manager of Magick II, which is
the new version that has been totally re-written in C++, and is fully
multi-threaded, and works on both UNIX and Windows platforms.
- GOTH.NET
is a free web space and email provider for the gothic community. I
am the main point of contact for all queries and administrative
requests for this domain, and have done (and continue to do) a lot of
custom scripting to ease the maintenance of this domain.
- Shadow Realm
is an Australian based ISP offering dialups, web, email and shell
accounts, aswell as domain hosting services. Shadow Realm is a
hobby of mine run off a 'what I can afford' budget - and is intended
to be more a learning experience (especially in networking, security,
distributed computing, etc). However the services it offers are
real. Right now the dialup support is non-existant, and may be so
for a while, however when I get the chance I plan to get it up again.
- CoreWars
has yet to get off the ground, however I have done a fair bit of
background work, and when it is up and running, it will be a public
hacking arena for the internet as a whole. With points being given
for successful hacks, and a money prize, CoreWars is intended to be
a security resource for the UNIX world as a whole (as all successful
hacks only get scored if the hack itself is submitted).
- DarkerNet
is an IRC network made for people goths, pagans, and generally
people who dont think along the strict lines that society tells us
to think. We try and weed out the scum of the net and although the
net is small, we have a friendly chat environment, and by forbidding
all forms of warez, porn and hacking, we plan to keep it as such.
- Other. This includes such things as a command line audio
playlister that accepts multiple audio file types in a single playlist
and will call a third party audio player depending on the file extension.
A fully functional PPP system that has special features such as ISP
cycling included, and an advanced firewalling system making it easy
for users to setup a very secure firewall with minimum fuss. Many other
small projects are included here, most of which have their source
available at
